Cosani and Salubri continue to cause problems for each other, and this time they come to blows. They are ordered to pair up during training so they can learn to work together. On a restday, Cosani tries to relax by going for a swim with T'nel, but they end up discussing problems. F'gol and Meledei help each other move into their new weyrs, and Meledei finds some music her friend has written. F'gol isn't too happy about it, but Meledei wants to sing it with him. Ri'len and Sorsha are glad to finally be senior weyrlings and no longer on relationship restrictions, but Sorsha is still nervous about upsetting Roseth. Will worry for her dragon get in the way of her relationship? The older group of weyrlings has graduated, and Ri'len offers congratulations to O'rian. K'hetah also has a chat with O'rian, getting a feel for his new wingrider.
N'vanik remembers the day he lost a good friend, wondering how things might have been different. But there are things to look forward to, like the weyrlings' first flights. G'len invites the Weyrleader to watch, and thanks him for finding a Weyrlingmaster. N'vanik catches up with K'hetah and is amused by his dragon's love of water.
K'sedel comes for a visit, but finds K'hetah in the Cyclone office instead of K'deren. On another day in the Cyclone office, K'deren and Eleada decide they deserve a break after working long and hard.
The junior weyrlings have passed some important milestones. They moved into their own weyrs, and they've had the excitement of their first flights with their lifemates. The next milestone is a very big one: first jumps /between/! They will become senior weyrlings after completing the jump . . . but not all of them will make it.
