Lord Zathris travels to see a runner he owns, Starfire, participate in a race at a local Gather. While there, he runs into Ashela, Weyrwoman's Second from Dragonsfall Weyr. A consummate host, Lord Zathris escorts Ashela to meet his runner before the race, and then they watch the race together.
