Cosani gets some unwanted attention from Sh'low. She also expresses her worry to Meledei that the goldrider won't have time for her after graduation, but Meledei promises she will. Cosani asks T'kob why she was chosen as a group second and has a hard time believing his answer.
Meledei and F'gol spend more time together, even sneaking into a closet for a bit of physical enjoyment.
Meledei is still concerned about Elleth's small size, and talks to T'kob about it.
Sorsha, worried she might be pregnant, goes to the healer to be sure. He assures her that she isn't, and that nothing is wrong. Ri'len experiences his first chase, and first loss. A young woman tempts him into a kiss, but Ri'len leaves before things go farther. Feeling guilty, he tell Sorsha, who doesn't take it well. She tries to spend the night with Meledei, but the goldrider wants her to talk to Ri'len. Sorsha's second choice is Cosani, who lets her spend the night. After some days of tension, Ri'len and Sorsha agree to put things behind them. Roseth's flight is coming up, and they want their bond to be as strong as possible to give Monilath the best chance.
J'darin and N'vanik exchange notes as a way of saying good bye, both wishing well for the other.
Zelle seems to be having trouble weaning herself from fellis, and M'net is enabling her though his intentions are good. Sh'lua turns to his family for help finding a Searchrider to replace him so he can transfer.
B'ram discovers that he might have a son, and asks Traelyn to come with him to Far Island when he visits the boy.
B'vin and D'cal get into an argument in the hall, and when B'vin takes a comment of D'cal's as an insult, he punches the bluerider. Needing to drown his troubles, B'vin asks D'ren to come with him for a drink, and they both get tipsy. For punching D'cal, B'vin is given extra sweeps by his Wingleader.
The big news this month is that the senior weyrlings have graduated! F'gol and Ri'len chat about their future and Tealth's spirit the night of graduation. Those old enough for the Wings have been placed and are settling in. Ri'len and N'vanik have a rather formal chat, but the Weyrleader's talk with F'gol focuses on harpering and finding enjoyment in life.
