Dolphin Cove welcomes forty new Weyrlings! The new Weyrlings include F'gol, Ri'len, T'nel, R'min, Cosani, Sorsha and Meledei -- who Impressed the much-coveted gold! Before the Hatching, the Candidates had plenty of interaction with each other. Sorsha caught up with her old friend Meledei, and Meledei managed to make friends with Cosani. Some other Candidates weren't quite so nice to Cosani -- they stole her clothes while swimming, but she got her revenge. And then they got back at her, and she got back at them ... Will things change after the Hatching, or will the feud go on?
Railen followed his fiancee Sorsha to the Weyr, and made the surprising choice to Stand along with her. They moved into a weyr together, and even went so far as to get married before the Hatching. What will happen now that they've both Impressed?
Zelle drags K'hetah along to try a little experiment while she's on Search. She also seems to be spending quite a bit of time with T'marek: dancing, whittling, doing everything she can to coax him out of his shell.
N'vanik is settling in to his new position, and the weyrfolk are adjusting to his much more casual approach to Weyrleadership. Although Sh'dori learns that he's not casual about Wing performance. N'vanik discusses a new Wing formation with K'hetah, and the lack of a Weyrlingmaster with G'len. He even offers some advice to a frightened Ch'bal.
Teiluka makes an effort to be more social, chatting with fellow Candidates Meledei, Vasha and Cosani. Her desire to continue on as a dragonhealer pushes her to Stand for the first time ... but both her and her brother are disappointed.
New Weyrlings, and a new Turn just around the corner. Dolphin Cove is never boring, and opportunity abounds for excitement, love, and friendship.
