Reports for Dolphin Cove Weyr

April 5th 2009

Zelle continues her friendly ways, convincing T'marek to come up to her weyr for a bit of wine and conversation, though he makes his retreat not long after arriving. M'net has trouble with drills, and asks Zelle for help. He gets over confident and causes an accident that puts them both in the infirmary. J'darin and K'hetah both come to visit their friend Zelle.

N'vanik brings Cosani's mother to the Weyr for a vist, and later asks her to stay. Cosani isn't happy about this development, as she vents about it to Meledei.

G'van, grounded from Fall, creates much more frustration than help in the infirmary and poor Vasha has to deal with him. Vasha also gets involved when some of the kitchen staff pick on Calla. G'van tries to talk his way out of his punishment, but N'vanik wants him to serve his time properly.

Flight lust isn't enough for B'vin. He decides he doesn't want to be used by D'cal, and tells him to leave. Is their friendship over? Will B'vin ever truly accept himself? On the brighter side, B'vin is _finally_ joining the fighting wings.

The junior weyrling class is large and lively. Meledei has a secret admirer, and it's a favorite piece of gossip among the weyrlings. Who is leaving her presents and notes? Afkica is investigating, and has a few leads. F'gol is doing his best not to make nasty remarks about the mysterious gift-giver. One fight with Meledei over it seems to be enough for him. Could it be jealousy that is prompting F'gol's remarks? He and Meledei spend much of their free time together, and it seems both weyrlings might want something more than friendship. Neither of them has mentioned anything about it to each other, though.

F'gol is still struggling with the idea that he must now be a dragonrider first, and isn't content to be a 'second best' harper. Training from weyr harpers isn't as good in his mind as training from the Hall, but that option is closed to him. His attitude causes another fight with Meledei.

Yet another of Meledei's admirers is Z'ku, and he assures her that he isn't the one leaving gifts. T'nel helps Meledei clean up the barracks. Another cleaning pair is Ri'len and E'ron, and E'ron struggles with how becoming a bluerider has changed his life. K'sen comes across D'wol's little feline and Sarath seems rather curious about it. K'sen has a bit of trouble with water, it seems, and Ri'len tries to keep him focused while they row for strength training. F'gol and Ri'len try to show off a little while paired up for exercises. W'lerin is less the friendly when he and K'sen are paired up in a class. J'darin pays a visit to Meledei while she washes Elleth. Even N'vanik takes some time to visit the weyrlings, joining them for lunch.

After whispering the wrong name at a very bad moment, Traelyn goes to B'ram to apologize. He also gets some very unwanted attention from Varija. Seems she's on the prowl, and she goes after K'hetah, too.

When Talryne ends her pregnancy /between/, N'vanik makes no protest. It eats at him, though, and he falls back on one of his favorite distractions: sex. A woman helps him burn off flight lust, and an awed drudge lets him enjoy a sense of power. He has no problem sleeping with his wingriders, as Varjia finds out.

There are a few additions, and one subtraction to the higher ranks of the Weyr. Ylisahn is moving to the Dolphin Hall to become the Headwoman there. Her memories of the flood are too overwhelming, and she needed a change. We wish her luck and know that visiting won't be a problem since the Hall is just down the beach. Our first addition is R'haran, transferring from Dragonsfall with his brood, to fill the open Weyrharper position. The other is a promotion: S'ren will be Hurricane Wing's new Wingthird!

The big, exciting news this month is that Dolphin Cove finally has a Weyrlingmaster! We are all happy to welcome T'kob, and wish him luck in trying to keep all those weyrlings under control.
