Trouble continues at Amber Hills Hold for Benamil and Nazli as Lord Zathris checks in on his brother and new sister-in-law to make sure that they are following his ultimatum; have a baby or else! To cover Benamil's secret relationship with vintner Arion, he and Nazli have married. It is also beneficial for Nazli, who has been abused in the past and does not wish for intimacy.
To make the difficult situation easier for Benamil, Arion and Nazli talk and call a truce between them so that they can both support Benamil in their different ways. After the difficult news, that Nazli and Benamil must try to have a baby despite their own personal preferences, Benamil and Arion spend intimate time together.
Lord Zathris and Lady Benani are paid a visit by Zathris' sister Rethisa, who is married to the Minor Holder of Hidden Meadows, Demir. While spending time with his wife and children, Zathris thinks back to when he first began to feel an interest in Benani. He recalls their first dance together and how hard it was to get back into the dating game after losing his first wife.
When harsh weather and snows blanket Amber Hills, Lady Benani and Nazli help provide support to Guard Rothen's mother who believes that her daughter, who died Turns prior, is trapped in the blizzard.
