"I'm tellin' ya, things may look like they're settlin' down, but that'd be a lie!" The old Auntie cackles as she rocks back and forth, back and forth. She motions and then points to a stool at her fit. "Sit down. Where shall I begin. Well, lessee...Chaysea went ta tha Weyr, which set Sinla and Chupsin in an uproar. Feelin' betrayed they are. Not likely to make a good name fer herself, Chaysea that is, bein' at a Weyr and all, but I s'pose she had her reasons, though she doesn't seem ta have told her family what they were! At least not at first. She did make a visit, though Chupsin wasn't so happy ta see her, nay. Down right angry he was. Ev'dently, being tha Headwoman o' a Weyr is more prestigious than that of a Hall. That and her widowhood and barrenness aren't seen as detrimental at a Weyr. I guess the Weyr is an escape in more ways than first thought. Seems like that family be torn asunder and I'm nae sure they'll be able ta reconcile. Chupsin's takin' some solace though - seems he's gotten that Sofeya reassigned ta clean his rooms and from what I see, she lingered there longer than needed, iffin ya know what I mean.
"That Kaya girl, she went ta go get a checkup. Chupsin said she's doin' fine, far as I know. Wirnan's been workin' like a mad man wit' ev'rythin' goin' on, so I donnae see tha two together much these days. She seems ta be more attentive ta hi though, nae like she was b'fore, tryin' ta get away. Nae sure what the change was. Mebbe loosin' that babe affected her more than I thought. Seemed shaken up when tha healer mentioned children.
"Demir's taken up position as Holder of Hidden Meadows. Seems Mirdella was threatened with eviction, but Demir set tha record straight. Sisellah thinks she can get away with things, but she's got another thing comin'. That Demir nae be so easy ta push around. Then he asked Mirdella ta find him a wife, which is necessary fer an heir and all."
She pauses in her rocking and chuckles. "What? Ye want to hear 'bout what's been happenin' wit' tha kidnapped lady? Well, ya know she was found, aye? Same day, that poor Loella lost her babe. She came home from' tha infirmary and he acted like she was goin' ta break, he did. She and Karhal be grievin' o'er their child, o' course, but he made a promise ta give her more. Lots more. I'm sure he'll be happy ta keep that promise. He wanted her ta stay wit' his family, though she'd have none o' that. She's stayin' at tha Hold. Mebbe she'll be helpin wit' tha Lady." The Auntie pauses a moment, the states a little more softly. "They named their babe. Karlo."
She shakes her head and resumes her rocking. "Tha lady, she's in a bad way. Lady Felyna stayed as long as she could, but that could only do so much. From what I done heard, she won't even let tha Lord in bed, at least til recently. Does she let him touch her? I doubt it. Poor thing's been through so much. Yanley came bringin' her babe, came ta help Lady Benani. I know havin' family near by, specially a sister, ought ta be good fer her. Zathris has been takin' pains ta surround her wit' help too. Got that Barenziah lady ta attend ta Benani as well. Was s'posed ta attend Faldrimme, but that changed wit' recent events. In all this, tha Lord's nae been takin' care o' himself, but Zelanka has. Good Headwoman, makin' sure tha Lord eats and what not. He's got a treasure in that one, ta be sure.
