The major news for residents of River Bluff Weyr and its surrounding territory is that there is going to be a Hatching! The Weyrleaders are glad to announce a clutch laid by Orlaith of 35 eggs including a gold! Weyrwoman Rhosyn is very glad of this development, knowing that it means another breeding gold for the Weyr in the turns to come-essential in a Pass.
So get those candidates approved and writing folks! Searchriders, get out there! Weyrbrats, are you ready to Stand? Which lucky young lady will manage to Impress the queen?
Candidate Aldryn just arrived and has a talk with D'lorn who decides to introduce the boy to his own dragon to give him a larger experience with the creatures. He's still learning how to deal with Weyrlife versus holdlife. He also meets greenrider B'jon and the new rider leaves him optimistic.
Candidate Lanniya works with Reyela on her lessons while Wingsecond K'reyel wanders in to see what the girls are up to. He tries to help, offering hints.
Briata comes by to bring Nisheyl to visit with her mother. Unfortunately the Weyrwoman didn't seem to happy about it and when the fostermother forces the baby into her arms, things don't go so well, leaving Rhosyn feeling upset and guilty.
Master Healer Reeva sits down with the Weyrwoman and Rhosyn tells her about her experience with Briata and Reeva puts her at ease, letting her know it's allright not to want to mother.
The Weyrwoman and Weyrleader wait while Orlaith lays the eggs, taking time to themselves. There seems to be trouble between the two when K'sedel shares his reservations about Rhosyn's behavior, asking her to be more calm and reserved.
Bronzerider D'ren meets candidate Lanniya and the rider gets some advice and pointers from the young girl. Despite tragedy, life doesn't have to be gloomy. The candidate also gets in touch with green weyrling Riveenata who doesn't have a hard time talking to her at all.
Later, that conversation leads Rhosyn to remember another Flight a long time ago when she first met R'enh and several memories afterward. It seems there was once more to the friendship and the two have struggled through quite a bit.
Jayonne is seen talking to Uetia. The greenrider said goodbye to her seacrafter mate and it seems that she is thinking about his unwillingness to Stand. Does the harper still want to be more than friends?
Briata also meets up with an old friend and they talk about where their lives are now and how much things have changed. She is definitely not the Lady Warder who first came to the Weyr, for good or ill.
Junior weyrling Riveenata picks out her new weyr, despite its smaller size. She gets that much closer to senior weyrlinghood which looms!
