Physical Description of Persona:
In reality, Aydhan is shorter than average (around 5'3'') but is always a little taller due to almost always being in some sort of heel, whether it's a tall evening shoe or her knee-high leather riding boots. Her eyes are a dark, warm brown, often enhanced by the perfect application of cosmetics. Her hair is long and wavy, a deep reddish-brown, and often tied up in fancy braids or piled haphazardly at the base of her neck. She wears fine things well, and enjoys the process of finding and selecting the perfect jewelry, the loveliest gown, the finest application of makeup. But she's also thrilled with a sturdy riding jacket and her durable work clothes, and has an outfit for any kind of occasion. She's built strong and sturdy, though still feminine, and can lift and throw with the best of them. The transition to Barrier Lake and warmer weather meant that Aydhan's once conservative-by-necesity wardrobe has significantly changed to show skin.
Emotional Description of Persona:
Warm and extroverted, Aydhan has thrived. She makes friends easily and loves to hear everyone's stories. She has a memory for faces and favorite foods and pieces of childhood memories, and she works hard to make sure people feel at ease. She's spent most of her life learning how to build relationships with people, and she is exceptionally good at it. It's a delicate balance of natural charisma, a need to be the center of attention, and a cult of personality that she's painstakingly built over the turns. She thrives being in a place where everyone knows her name, and enjoys the praise and awe that being a goldrider affords her.
She's a shameless flirt, despite being happily weyrmated. There's something exciting about being interested and catching someone's interest that gets her adrenaline running. She and N'kevyn are happily weyrmated but not exclusive, and both are known to take others home, separately and together. Neither of them seem to have a jealous bone in their bodies (though Aydhan does prefer to be the center of attention) and the two of them love to gossip together about their conquests. Aydhan herself has been a little more reserved since they moved to Barrier Lake, trying to find her footing in her new home and recognizing the position of authority she's now in can add an extra complexity to her romantic encounters.
Aydhan has always been a little eccentric. She has a penchant for collecting animal bones and has a complete tunnelsnake skeleton displayed on the mantle. There's a special display shelf for different types of skulls, feathers, bits and bobs of creatures she's collected over the years. Several art pieces in her weyr are framed and pinned bugs and spiders, especially beetles. It's no longer contained to her weyr, either; she's gotten very good at making her own jewelry from these specimens too.
History of Persona:
The only child of a greenrider and a healer, Aydhan had an unconventional beginning in High Reaches Weyr. Her father was a healer of a different kind: part hospice, part mortuary services, patients under his team's care were the ones who would not make a full recovery. Aydhan grew up around the sad comfort and fascination of death. She apprenticed under him when she came of age. Despite the strange interests and the stigma around them, Aydhan didn't fail to make friends, and she was never a shy nor lonely girl because of it.
Her apprenticeship was plagued with many stops and starts. The clutch sizes began to balloon, and like many dreamy weyrchildren, she offered the dragons a choice. None came to her. She descended back into the Lower Caverns each time, no worse for the wear. If it was meant to happen, it would happen.
Then she met (or re-met, as he'd grown taller and started to grow a beard) N'kevyn. He came out of his weyrling training styled as a smooth-talking hotshot that was man's gift to Pern on a shiny bronze platter. Their will they/won't they, off-and-on relationship resulted in a pregnancy. N'kevyn, from a weyr but not a weyr family, convinced her to settle down and they weyrmated shortly before their son was born. She had a daughter a few turns later and decided that two was enough, thank you.
Fate intervened one last time. Aydhan was cleared to be fit to stand for one more hatching before she aged out, this one with a rare gold egg. It wasn't so much the queen she wanted, though she learned to not say that part out loud as she grew. She wanted to be in the fighting wings with her family, her friends, her weyrmate. She was more likely to impress one of the dozen greens than she would one singular gold egg, and setting all her hopes on that seemed destined for failure.
Tymborikath found her.
And Aydhan was not even a little cool about it. She appeared at the Hatching feast with the exact same hotshot pomp that N'kevyn had and threw his pickup lines right back at him. The weyrling training was _hard_, of course, and she missed her partner and her children, but it too passed with her graduation into the Queen's Wing. Life continued on with only a few extra responsibilities: she continued working as a healer and attained her Journeyman knots. Slowly took on more and more duties as her superiors trained and mentored her. The current Weyrwoman retired, but not soon enough for Aydhan to take the Weyrwoman role, and nor was she senior enough to take the 'second when the resulting shuffle moved the queens around.
She didn't initially bat an eye when Dolphin Cove Weyr sent out a call for a Weyrwoman's Second. She had the luck to never be moved from her home Weyr, and she felt no need to leave. But her fellow Queens encouraged her to try, that she was ready for something _more_ than what she's been doing, so she eventually put her name in for consideration.
Fate had other plans for her. While she wasn't successful in getting the Dolphin Cove Weyrwoman Second position, she was offered the position at Barrier Lake Weyrhold instead.
Only a few months after her transfer Aydhan found herself thrust into the position of Acting Weyrwoman, after the sudden death of Kapera's gold Riyanth. The Weyr must keep running, even as Aydhan watches for any telltale change of Tymborikath's hide and waits to hear if another gold starts to rise first.

Dragon's Name: Tymborikath
Dragon's Age: 17
Dragon's Colour: Gold
Description of Dragon:
Tymborikath is a warm, wonderful honey gold, with tendrils of yellow-white along her muzzle and wingsails. She's smaller than average but not overly so, and thick and sturdy as queens are. This is not a dragon that was built to zip around the fighting wings, or make any fast and dazzling maneuvers. She's good at what she can do- catching falling dragons, running supplies, relaying messages to ground crews and fighting Wings-- and she's quite happy to leave the acrobatics to the little dragons.
Her voice is as warm as she looks, a welcoming rumble that can put nearly anyone at ease. She's not particularly proddy or possessive, nor does she get upset easily. She's an easy going, calm gold. That's not to say she can't command a flight if needed-she can. She takes command with the same easy confidence as her rider does. She doesn't need to prove to anyone that her place is at the top. It's where she belongs, an immutable fact, and she doesn't need to use it as leverage nor to lord it over others.
Pets
Dingus, Brown Firelizard: aged 0, hatched m5 d1
Dingus is a sturdy brown firelizard, with a hide that's the rich colour of freshly turned soil. He's big and thick for his size, stocky with broad wings, and makes his clumisness extra noticeable. He's not the fastest, nor the most graceful, but there's something undeniably endearing about his state of perpetual unawareness.
