Lizayna and Furtor paid the ultimate prize for trying to blackmail Lord Corowal with the baby she was carrying (a result of Corowal's thryst with her). He ordered Zandan to silence them, and he did, setting a fire to cover his tracks. Of course, Captain Zandan was also the one responsible of investigating the fire...
Lord Holder's life is never easy. He has lot of concern: Lady Felyna's health, Steward Sarban's sudden departure (his sister's husband suddenly died and he was called to help his family), stolen tithes and the approaching Turn's End.
Emerald Falls Hold has also received a new crafter. Journeywoman techinician Solai has accepted a contract. Lord Corowal received her himself and warned her of the Hold's attitude towards female crafters.
