In the month before Turns End/Beginning, Lord Bryvin reaches out to an old acquaintance to find and retrieve his missing daughter who has been reported to be at the Weyr in the care of one of Xeladrie's former ladies.
Meanwhile, Yriadha hired a new Foster Mother for Lord Bryvin's two children with his former wife. And a pack of young ladies descend on the hold as foster's for his sister Lady Brina who is also arriving to manage the Lady's duties for her brother.
The acquaintance recovers and brings Lord Bryvin's daughter back to him. He dismisses her and tells her he won't contact her again.
Riadem is impressed by one of the ladies and bails out three of them when they get into some trouble late at night in one of the dockside taverns. Lady Brina doesn't approve. Nor does she approve when she learns he's impregnated a drudge.
Yriadha takes that issue in hand to make sure the drudge aborts her child and makes way for Riadem to break off and court the young lady he prefers.
