Reports for River Bluff Weyr

January 11th 2016

So many things happening! This is a great time to get in the action at River Bluff. Besides the wonderful weather and the great beach, this cliffside Weyr also happens to have plenty of residents to interact with.

This month, a hatching happened! Vilarth and Volaith's clutch hatched but not without incident. First, Lenala had a miscarriage and Vilarth was upset, waking the whole Weyr. It was touch and go, but the healers managed to get her worked on and stable. The Weyrwoman was pressed into service since Orlaith had to calm the other queen. A'kades was also there to assist. He waited in the infirmary thinking about the child he was losing and whether or not Lenala would be allright.

F'lin was woken up when Vilarth reacted. Rhosyn asked him to see about his wingriders since the Weyr would have to fly threadfall the next day and they needed people to be rested and not worrying. The next morning, Rhosyn let everyone know at breakfast that Lenala was alive and would be recovering. There was no danger that Vilarth would leave her eggs or go between. Still, F'lin and Riveenata waited nervously after the humming started since Vilarth wouldn't let folks into the Grounds.

Still, during the Hatching Vilarth wasn't going to let the candidates in! Lenala had to come from the infirmary despite not being fully recovered and get her to calm down enough for things to proceed. A'kades help the goldrider but quickly took her back to the healers after. F'dal impressed as well as Ciara's son-now C'rin! Congrats to the new weyrlings!

The Weyrwoman was quite tired when she arrived at the feast thanks to the events of the last few days. Lanniya seemed to enjoy it, though. She was seen dancing with F'lin and even received a kiss from him, though it was a chaste one.

B'jon had to go get Milga and Feydal's family since the greenrider had promised the candidate he would do it. The greenrider was also seen talking to A'dryn who let him know he was interested in the other rider. A great step!

The Weyrwoman also sat down with one of her wingriders and she was pleased with Riveenata's progress. She spoke about future opportunities for the young greenrider, such as possible wingthird duties. Only time will tell once the greenpair has more experience. Besides Riveenata, she also spoke with Lanniya regarding her issue during the first between lesson and using her ability more. Lanniya wasn't sure exactly how to but maybe she'll learn more once she gains more experience.

The almost-to-be-graduated weyrlings go through night drills with A'kades. A'dryn, Lanniya, and the others are seen flying through the thread ropes in the dark to learn what it's like to fly threadfall at night. It doesn't go perfectly, but everyone survives.

F'lin and D'ren escape the Weyr to talk about current events and have a little one-on-one young bronzerider time. Of course there is speculation about the Weyrleaders and other figures. D'ren doesn't seem to be interested in leadership at the moment, but F'lin is very happy with his position.

A'kades meets with A'dryn to let him know he's progressing very nicely. The bronzerider is happy with A'dryn's developing leadership skills and lets the boy know it.

Stay tuned to see who the new Weyrleader will be at River Bluff! Also, this would be a good time to get your bronzeriders to transfer over since there are Weyrlingmaster and Wingsecond positions open!
