Reports for Harper Hall

June 2nd 2007

While their Weyr neighbors are consumed with rescuing Nyith's eggs (an adventure which the Hallmaster thinks will be the subject of a rather powerful ballad someday...) it seems the Hall residents have been preoccupied with a little destruction of their own - mostly of wedding vows!

Poor Master Eilomar (yes, that's right, POOR Master Eilomar!) had a heart attack after walking in on his promiscuous wife and dragonrider V'lorn. He has recovered sufficiently to come back to the Hall, even having lost a bit of weight! But his return was rather somber as he
confesses the truth of his wife's unfaithfulness to Hallmaster Almonteo, and his suspicions that perhaps this was not the first time. It seems the evidence of her waywardness is written on his daughter's face! The
Hallmaster is surprisingly sympathetic, remembering the pain he had caused his own wife by straying so many Turns ago. He assures Master Eilomar that no matter what happens to his marriage, his position in the Hall is secure.

But Eilomar's wife isn't the only man finding pleasure in another man's arms! Larken has continued her affair with brownrider M'tone, running to him when the chaos of the storm surge brings back memories of the fire that destroyed her home not even a Turn before. While Ojisan helps move the Hall and its apprentices to higher ground, Larken laments the life of a harper's wife, having to come second to his craft. M'tone offers her comfort and support as they ride out the beginning of the storm together...

Will Eilmar confront his wife? Will Larken get caught in another's man's arms? Keep reading to find out...
