Reports for Harper Hall

March 1st 2007

The Harper Hall welcomes Apprentice Narrala who is already making her presence known! The young woman had a discussion with Hallsecond Thanja about being a woman crafter in a male-dominated craft Hall. Thanja assures the girl that she will be ultimately judged on her merit and
reminds her to enjoy her time as an apprentice.

Ironically, the Hallsecond had to take the very opinionated chorus master, Master Eilomar, to task for berating one of the young ladies of the Hall. She is not happy to see the treatment, though Eilomar says he was just trying to toughen the girl up. Thanja will be keeping an eye on him from now on...

Larken's woes continued this month. M'tone has been out of her life since Turns End, other than sneaking peeks at him down on the beach. Still, she was not prepared when she ran into him by accident along the Weyrlake path. It is a rather uncomfortable and difficult meeting. Her husband can't help but notice the depression his wife seems to be
suffering from. Ojisan even talked to a healer for advice, but was assured that it was just homesickness. He comes home for lunch one day in the hope of coaxing her to open up to him, but young Larken only is reminded of M'tone once more. Though he finally is able get her to agree to at least THINK about a walk later, Larken is lost once more in
her misery and guilt. What will it take for Larken to snap out of it? Only time will tell...

Why not make a harper and join in on the fun! There's a lot in store for the Harper Hall in the coming months, including a scandal that just might ruin any hope at peace between Weyr and Hall...
