Physical Description of Persona:
Kemmin is a tall, muscular young man with dark freckled skin and dark curly hair trimmed close to his skull. He has an easy smile and work roughened hands. He dresses in the patched and sometimes stained clothing of a dock worker.

Emotional Description of Persona:
Kemmin is excited for a fresh start and to have his life finally begin. After turns of shouldering the burden of being the eldest child in a family of eight, he is excited to build a life for himself untethered from his family’s needs and expectations. The turns spent yearning for freedom mean that he’s gone a bit wild with it now that he’s on his own.

Right now he wants to learn to sail so that he can work on one of the ships sailing across Barrier Lake, or even Pern’s oceans. He’s also open to nearly any experience that comes at him, and isn’t too proud to change his mind if something else comes up - anything except the Farmcraft.

History of Persona:
Kemmin was born and raised at a small farming cothold within Dolphin Cove Weyr’s territory, the eldest child in a family of eight. Although he loves his family fiercely and without reservation, he felt stifled and depressed growing up by the lack of opportunity at his rural cothold and the responsibilities foisted upon him by his parents. He and his sister Ketlyn sacrificed much of their childhoods taking care of their younger siblings, and while he loves them fiercely and would do anything for them, he also resents the freedom they had to be children.

Then Ketlyn was Searched. Kemmin was overjoyed that she was able to escape the cothold but also hugely resentful that she was given an opportunity that he wasn’t. He was the eldest child, and a boy, and therefore should have been the one to get to Impress a dragon. Instead he was stuck labouring on the farm with his father and brothers. He spent a good deal of his time resenting his sister and dreaming of running away, even though he understood that making good on his plans would ruin his family. It wasn’t until his siblings were a bit older that his idle daydreams became an actual plan for escape.

Ketlyn eventually Impressed a green dragon, and once she was able to go /between/, Kemmin asked to go to the Weyr for a visit. Then he refused to leave. This caused some tension between them, but even more problems with the family that he’s left behind.
