Emerald Falls Hold's raport for May 2007
The last month has certainly been interesting. It had brought a dramatic change in Emerald Falls Hold, when conclave finally met and confirmed Corowal as the Lord Holder, to replace Enrizial. First thing the new Lord did was to give a speech that outlined _his_ politics. Which are totally different from his predecessor, a fact that will be causing ripples in Emerald Falls hold for a long time to come. Among the audience, Fareena and Caelah, two young women from the hold, are suddenly filled with hope, when they hear Corowal's speech. They speculate what it means to them.
Corowal's first morning as a Lord Holder wasn't so good, when he woke up with hangover and snapped at Erassa, who snapped him back. Also his mother sent a letter, telling her intention of coming to a visit. Which she did, and later on same month, Corowal escorted her back to river-boat and met Captain Jesten.
One of Corowal's first duties as Lord Holder was to nominate new Headwoman. He picked out Vanea, one of the assistant headwomen with good recommendations. And he really didn't convince her too long to take the job. Vanea also gets to feel on first hand what the new Lord's ideas mean, when her daughters take up the subjects of apprenticeship and new directions for their lives. Vanea also goes to meet master Miranek, discussing her son's situation with him. A woman named Faleen approaches the Headwoman, asking a job from the main hold. Her daughter Fareena had run off and she felt lonely at the cot all by herself.
On older matters, hold woman Natiya approached Corowal and applied for a divorce, on the grounds that her husband is convicted criminal.
