Physical Description of Persona:
With large brown eyes and a dusky complexion Talryne is strikingly beautiful. She's tall, with long limbs and a shapely figure that has gone just a little soft. She has very straight brown hair which she hasn't quite been able to bring herself to cut, in spite of how much easier it would probably be to care for.

Emotional Description of Persona:
Fragile and haunted, Talryne also has an inner strength that she isn't really aware of. She spends much of her time alone or with N'vanik, limiting her interactions with others. She has taken the bold step to become an apprentice weaver, and is gaining some confidence in her new craft.

No one knows if Talryne will ever heal enough to lead more than a shadow of a life, but for now she seems determined to try. She has a few tentative friendships, but it's difficult for her to form close bonds aside from her relationship with N'vanik.

History of Persona:
Talryne grew up in the Healer Hall in a close-knit family of healers. Her mother was sick throughout most of her childhood, but various aunts, uncles and cousins always made sure that Talryne and her younger sister were cared for and loved. Talryne adored her mother, and spent much of her time doing her best to make sure her mother was comfortable and cared for.

In spite of valuing family above all else, Talryne's father gave both of his daughters the chance to go to the Weyr and pursue a craft or even Stand for Impression. Talryne's sister never seemed interested in doing so, but Talryne left for River Bluff Weyr when she was eighteen, in spite of reservations she had about leaving her mother alone.

A half-hearted turn spent apprenticed as a harper ended when Talryne Impressed green Ysanth. What should have been a happy time turned into a nightmare when Talryne received word that her mother had passed away after a struggle with a chest cold that simply couldn't be cured. Unable to return home, Talryne felt stranded at the Weyr with her dragonet as her only real companion. Her only relative at the Weyr, River Bluff's Weyrhealer, did her best to be supportive, but Abrei always seemed to be busy and had never been the particularly nurturing type to begin with.

After her graduation to Senior Weyrling, Talryne abandoned all of her craftbred morals and threw herself with reckless abandon into every possible thing she could find that might offer her the slightest bit of pleasure. The string of men through her bed offered her little lasting comfort, but she kept trying, hoping that eventually she'd find something that filled her craving for companionship.

Things got more steadily out of control, until even her oblivious cousin couldn't quite ignore what was going on. Talryne found herself faced with steady appointments with a mindhealer, who helped her find more productive and satisfying ways of dealing with her grief. Deciding a fresh start would be the best way to pick her life back up, Talryne requested a transfer to Dragonsfall Weyr.

Her fresh start turned into a nightmare when Ysanth was fataly scored during Threadfall, leaving a wounded and bereaved rider behind. Though many people expected Talryne to follow Ysanth into death, she held to life by latching onto an unexpected source: bronzerider N'vanik. With a stable relationship -- a first for both of them -- she has gained more confidence. She became an apprentice weaver, a one time hobby now a serious craft. Just as she was settling into her new life, she was uprooted. She followed N'vanik to Dolphin Cove when he won the Weyrleadership and her recovery took a few steps back.
