Physical Description of Persona:
Davren is not particularly impressive looking with his stocky, somewhat short build. He has salt and pepper graying hair that used to be dark, brown eyes, and a ready smile. He’s not unpleasant to look at, but has never had the kind of face women swoon over. His voice is not a soloist’s voice, but pleasant and strong enough to carry when needed.

His knees have started giving him trouble, though he tries to remain active on his good days, which outnumber the bad, for now. On the bad days he’s beginning to show a slight limp. He’s just grateful the pains in his knees haven’t started in his hands.

Emotional Description of Persona:
Davren is mild mannered, warm and caring in a way that makes others feel seen, which served him well on his teaching circuit. He is genuine in his warmth, with no ambitions or agendas behind it. He just takes people at face value.

He makes friends easily, but is generally only close to a small handful. Used to years of traveling his circuit alone, he will be slow to ask for help - or even admit he needs any.

Davren has a long fuse, not quick to take offense or anger. He is more likely to express disappointment than anger. When he does get angry, it’s a quiet anger, his normally warm tones going sharp and cold. His trust is given readily, but once broken will be very difficult to earn back.

He has never let himself get too attached romantically, never finding the right person, but he would be particularly attentive in such a relationship - not that he expects to find such at this point in his life.

History of Persona:
Davren was the result of a fling between a Harper and a holder girl. The harper continued on his circuit, and later that turn, Davren was born. He set his heart on becoming a Harper from an early age, and, as it happened, the boy had a talent for instruments. He wasn’t any kind of genius, he just worked at them really, really hard, spending as much time as he could get away with on any instrument he could convince someone to let him borrow.

He was average amongst his peers in most areas during his apprenticeship. Anything involving instruments, however, he excelled at. He could almost always be found with one to hand, noodling on it any time he wasn’t required to be doing something else, and the time put in on them paid off in ever increasing skill.

He was sent on a teaching circuit once he walked the tables and, remained in the position for years, teaching children and sending reports back to the Hall. He grew to love the people on his circuit, so it was only when his knees made such constant travel impractical that he reluctantly admitted it was time for a new chapter. He requested a position requiring less travel and was sent to Barrier Lake Weyr.
