Physical Description of Persona:
Of average height and build, H'rell isn't particularly striking to look at. His skin is starting to show weathering from his long Turns of exposure flying in the bracing cold mountain air around the Western barrier range. He keeps his thinning black hair cropped short, and his narrow eyes, while bright with intelligence, appear somewhat heavy-lidded.

His most notable feature is a long scoring scar that runs almost shoulder to wrist on his left arm. The injury occurred two Turns into the current pass, and due to H'rell refusing to follow the Healer's instructions back then, the tissue healed poorly. Though he has full use of the arm, the skin around the scar always appears tight and angry. Therefore, H'rell does his best to keep it covered, often wearing long sleeves even during the hot months.

Emotional Description of Persona:
H'rell is an introvert by nature, though his Turns working with the weyrlings at Far Island Weyr have helped him be more comfortable with public speaking and large groups in general.

He has a particular soft spot for young candidates and riders. This is likely due to the fact that he impressed his own brown Cornath at a mere 13 Turns old. His affinity and the extra care he affords the prepubescent adolescents in his care is obvious to anyone watching.

H'rell enjoys solitude wherever he can find it. When his duties allow, he often disappears to spend an evening stargazing at various remote locations, usually high within the mountains somewhere. He rarely makes friends with his peers due to this reclusiveness, and has never had a long-term relationship, though he does have one daughter that he knows about within the lower caverns of Far Island.

History of Persona:
Weyrborn and bred, H'rell spent nearly all of his first forty Turns on the western end of southern continent, in what at the time was Far Island Weyrhold. He was born to a dragonrider mother and her miner weyrmate, and began Standing for impression as soon as he was allowed. His second clutch as a candidate gave him his lifemate in the form of a deep brown dragon named Coranth. H'rell was 13 Turns at the time, and he and Coranth struggled to keep up during their time as weyrlings due to his young age.

H'rell apprenticed with a Starsmith at the weyrhold after his dragon had grown enough to not need his constant attention, and had advanced to a Junior Journeyman by the time the tenth pass began when he was 29.

Two Turns after Thread began falling, H'rell suffered a major scoring that took out the use of his left arm for several months. During his recouperation, he was asked to assist with the weyrling instruction in an unofficial capacity. It was then that the Weyrlingmaster noticed his skill in dealing with the youngest members of the class. After healing enough to fly again, H'rell was offered a permanent position as a Weyrlingmaster Third, a position he held for 8 Turns before he transferred to the new Barrier Lakes.

His decision to transfer was more Coranth's than his. The brown dragon was insistent that they were needed at the new Weyr. Really, H'rell suspected his dragon was just trying to get closer to a little green whom the pair had met at one of the infrequent Hatchings they attended. But H'rell agreed, and not long after the completion ceremony was held, dragon and rider moved to their new weyr. He still makes it a point to get to know the youngest dragonriders and future dragonrider candidates, building trust and providing guidance where he can.

Description of Dragon:
Coranth is almost the polar opposite of his rider, gregarious and emotional, with a personality more fit for a green than a brown. He loves making friends and his constant push for his rider is to be more outgoing with riders his own age. Coranth is the type to strike up a conversation with any dragon he comes across, and curiously even likes to visit with the watchweyrs when he gets the opportunity.
