Physical Description of Persona:
If Pern had the mythos of a gallant knight in shining armor, M'thos would embody one. Instead, he is the picturesque version of every dragonrider in every ballad and every romance novel. His short blond hair has only the slightest hint of silver if one looks closely enough- and M'thos doesn't. His eyes are a twinkling, merry blue, and when the mood strikes him he carefully maintains a beard. He is tall and strong, with broad shoulders, though he's lean instead of bulky. He has a few scars here and there, from being a rough-and-tumble youth to an even more daring threadfighter, and does his best to ignore the pain that flares in his back and joints.

Emotional Description of Persona:
M'thos has a way with people. Naturally charismatic and definitely a tenor, his youthful charm has delightfully aged like a fine wine. And, like any tenor, he loves being the center of attention and he makes friends easily. He's casual with his affections, and with a definite lack of personal space. Before he made the startling switch to monogamy, he took lovers the way some people made friends. He's infuriatingly likeable, with a cocky smile and twinkling eyes, and always ready for a laugh and not easily insulted. He cares deeply and doesn't really know where to put the excess of emotion when it can't be channeled into something physical- a clap on the back, a nudge in the ribs, a pat on the shoulder.

As he's aged and entered his family man era, it became quite clear that he's amazing with children. It made him a great Searchrider but would have made him an even better crechemarm or teacher, if he hadn't had the luck to Impress and relegate his harper abilities to performance-only. He doesn't do too poorly with teenagers and remembers how harsh his own weyrling training was, and wants to give the new generation the best chance they can to survive the Pass.

History of Persona:
Merethos was born and raised in the Dragonsfall Weyrhold environs. His father was a rare dragonrider in the Interval, a man who split his time between dragon care and the Technicians Hall in order to make a living. The eldest amongst a gaggle of children, the man instilled in Merethos the nobility of dragonriders and the great stories of Pern's ancient heroes, and pressured each of his children to Stand at each rare clutch. Alas, it was more common to be left Standing than to come out a dragonrider, and Merethos quickly realized that he would need a better plan than what his father wanted for him. He apprenticed with the local Harpers and had no shortage of friends and lovers.

Everything changed when Cusyanth clutched 45 eggs in 1190. It would have been his last turn to Stand, one final hurrah to meet his father's expectations. He did-- but also he didn't. He walked off those Sands with his perfect green, Fianwyth. That had not been his father's intention, but he found it very hard to care when faced with this little dragonet.

The threat of Threadfall loomed, and M'thos made the best of the last threadfree decade. He gained his journeyman harper knots, excelled in wing drills, and even became something of a well-known Searchrider. It helped that he looked like the poster child of everything a dragonrider could be, including on the cover of a romance novel. His relationships continued to stay messy, and he put more than one friendship at risk by continuing to pursue the angry and holdborn bronzerider of their weyrling class. In the midst of this on again, off again relationship he fathered two children with a friend in the Lower Caverns. Eventually, T'mhas came to terms with himself, his family, and what _he_ wanted in spite of his upbringing- and the two of them settled down together. Two more children eventually followed suit, this time instigated by greenflights won by T'mhas' bronze Ghraisath.

M'thos' reputation on Search spoke for him when Saibra looked to change the Weyrlingstaff at Dragonsfall, especially after the incident between Kadira and Naradis, and he was offered the Weyrlingmaster Second position opposite bronzerider T'lonas.

Description of Dragon:
There's no mistaking the regality in Fianwyth. Her body seems to flow, from the elegantly long neck to the gently tapered tail, to her long wings and thin legs. Every movement conveys her confidence and grace. She keeps her head held high, never lowering it out of respect or shyness; her wings are always tucked primly against her sides, her tail swishes slowly as she considers those around her. Her face is thin, with prominent headknobs and pointed eyeridges and a sharp curve of her jaw. It gives her an air of severity, yes, much like a mother ready to scold, but her large, calmly whirling eyes (and her eyes are always slowly whirling, unless something very dire has happened) betray an intelligence within. Fianwyth is a deep emerald green that looks velvety and plush like the very best evening gown. She has lighter marks just above her eyeridges, an ebb and flow reminiscent of woven branches.

Fianwyth is quiet but she is not shy. It is true that she is very soft spoken; her mindvoice is usually only a whisper, a pleasant murmur, but despite this her words and feelings come across very clear. She is a well-spoken dragon, though at times she prefers to communicate through emotions or images- how best to describe the beauty of a sunset, or the love she feels as she gazes on her rider?

Anyone observant enough will notice that there certainly is an intelligence to Fianwyth, a quiet dignity that does not ask nor demand but simply is, that ebbs and flows from her like a slow tide. Her ideas are always solid, her advice is always sure. She is a firm believer of speaking only when spoken to, and will never be one to jump into arguments. She does not feel a drive to let her opinion be known, to throw her ideas into a mix when there are plenty of others to be had. She watches from the sidelines, only offering her counsel to those that ask it. She could lead them all by the hand, certainly, she could beg and plead and advise, but how will they learn if she does that? They will make mistakes, yes, they will get hurt, but to feel is to prove that one is really living. As such, she will make no secret of how much she loves and supports her Rider, her friends, and her lovers. She will let them know that she loves them despite their flaws, despite their mistakes- not in so many words, of course, but her unyielding presence and soft gestures convey it for her.
