While Almonteo has been busy with wedding plans and secret arrangements to return the Hall back to Emerald Falls, his Hallsecond has been keeping an eye on things back at the Hall.

One afternoon she found her little blue flit, Plumage, trying to steal Master Eilomar's food. The choir master did not take kindly to the cheeky little beggar, but Master Thanja quickly difussed the situation with a bit of dried jerky. She even suggested that Eilomar might enjoy a pet of his own some day. The Master insisted that he did not have time for such silliness, but it seems he also is not sure that a firelizard would find him worthy of Impressing upon...

Thanja also had to be a comfort to her son, An'der, whose good friend Ava was killed in Threadfall. She listed as he recounted the unfortunate events and confessed his deep feelings for the rider of his blue's favorite green. The loss was made all the more tragic as it was him that she died saving. The Hallsecond encouraged her son to not hold it in, but to talk about Ava freely and in that way keep her alive in memory.

Will the all-female choir be a success at Emerald Falls? Will Almonteo and Corowal find a way to negotiate a peaceful relocation for the Hall back it's ancestral home? Keep watching to find out!
