Physical Description of Persona:
Bahji is a slender, petite young woman with fine pale skin that is dotted with freckles over her tilted nose. She is not a beauty, but has been called pretty, especially because of her open, easy smile that causes deep dimples in her cheeks. Though she is delicately boned, Bahji doesn't give the impression of fragility.

She has golden brown hair that is kept cropped closely to her head so that it is easy to care for, but frames her heart shaped brow like an impish hat. Her eyes are large, brown, and rimmed with short, but thick dark lashes. They seem to stare through people, never focusing on anything in particular.

Bahji's hands are noticeably delicate, her fingers long and sensitive.

Emotional Description of Persona:
Bahji is a sweet, unassuming soul. Where most would believe those with her disability would be shy or bitter, she is rather spunky and outgoing. She is always ready to lend a smile to those who may need one and has a talent for putting people at ease.

Highly perceptive, Bahji has sharp instinct for reading people's voices and sensing their mood. This has made it hard to slip anything by her, for she tends to pick up on hidden nuances.

She does have her fears. Bahji sticks to places she is familiar with; unfamiliar territory makes her feel vulnerable and frightened to the point of phobia. She has been known to panic if she gets lost.

History of Persona:
Bahji is a recent arrival at River Bluff Weyr. Born at a Sunstone Seahold cotholding, Bahji was sent to the weyr by her parents, in the hopes that she might find a place there; she was not marriageable. Unfortunately for the young woman, she had began to lose her sight at 12 turns.

Not completely blind, Bahji is able to see darkness and light, but most everything remains shrouded in darkness. It had been hard for her at first, but like most young children with supportive parents, she adapted well. She learned to work with her disability. At her home, she learned how to weave nets and rope for boats by touch, as well as how to repair them. She enjoyed the work for it kept her busy.

Her parents wanted a future for her, and though it terrified Bahji to leave her home, she has adapted well to a small area of River Bluff. She has also convinced the Weavers to allow her to learn, and though it is a slow process, she has been learning the loom.

Bahji stays mostly in the Lower Caverns, comfortable in its confines and rarely stepping out of them. She's frightened of getting lost within the large Weyr, so she is still largely unknown in the populace.

After entering the Weyr, Bahji met and connected with E'rae, a blue rider who was fascinated by her lack of sight. One thing led to another (several times) and Bahji found herself with child. Refusing to go home, she found support in the Weyr.

Recently, D'arvn gifted her with a flit egg for Turn's end. He helped her Impress the little bronze, Burst.

Bahji lost her unborn child after someone engineered an accident in which she fell. The after affects of the loss have been difficult for Bahji to cope with. Her relationships have suffered as a result.

Bahji died in month 12 of Turn 8 when River Bluff Weyr was destroyed in an earthquake.

Pets

Burst, Bronze Firelizard: aged 4, hatched m1 d6
Burst will be a large bronze firelizard, but currently the little hatchling is a pudgy little flit who loves nothing more than to eat and sleep. A dark bronze, Burst has wide wings that have lighter shades of bronze mottling the underside of his wing sails. His joints are also a lighter shade of bronze.

Burst is very protective of Bahji and often serves as a guide, lessening her fears of new areas. New, unknown people are greeted with suspicion by Burst until he gets to know them and he will keep them from getting too close to his pet until he approves of their presence.
