Physical Description of Persona:
Tall and lean, Rialt stands just above six feet. Turns of riding runners has given him strong definition in his legs and arms – something that his vanity is quite pleased about. He tries to make the attempt to keep his unruly, black hair short, but just can't keep up with the fast rate of its growth. The same goes for his stubble, but he doesn't mind keeping it. It seems to make quite an impression on the ladies, after all! Rialt's dark green eyes seem to be fixed with a permanent mischievous glint, and he always has a wide and ready grin for everyone who comes his way.

Emotional Description of Persona:
Intelligent, clever and devious, Rialt is a first-rate, self-serving scoundrel, but despite this, he possesses a good and generous nature. He can sometimes give the appearance of just gliding through life, anxious about nothing, and laughing about everything – including the fact that this is his _eighth_ Turn standing for a Hatching. And in some ways, the appearance of his laid-back attitude is true. Rialt is not easily bothered by things, and loves nothing more than a good time and a lovely girl to share it with. Despite this though, he's quite serious about his craft, and takes the view that the more times he fails to Impress, the more time he has to soak up even more knowledge about runners and their care.

History of Persona:
Rialt was born and raised at the Weyr, and could never imagine living anywhere else. His mother was a dragonrider, and his father a master beastcrafter who had been stationed at Dolphin Cove for a time. Even as a small child, the impish Rialt showed an affinity towards runners, and would make a habit of sneaking away from his fosterparents to be with them.

His transition from boy to youth was fairly normal for a weyrbrat. At the age of twelve, he apprenticed into the craft of his choosing and began to stand on the Sands. Like all young youths who don't Impress their first few times, Rialt was just as disappointed. But through the encouragement of one of the master beastcrafters, he learned to re-channel that disappointment and take on a more positive view of his situation.

Since the Threadfall tragedy that had struck the Weyr just two months before, Rialt has been hit with the realization of just how vital dragonriders are to the survival of Pern. Though he is quite dedicated to his craft, he knows that he would be of more use to the Weyr as a dragonrider than as a beastcrafter. He hopes that in this clutch of the new senior queen, he'll find his dragon.

When Rialt turned eleven, he was given a yearling colt by his father before he left for another assignment. Named Storm because of his dark, dappled gray coloring, he has grown into a beautiful, sturdy and intelligent stallion. Rialt knows that when he Impresses, he'll have to give his runner up, but for now, he enjoys riding him nearly every day.
