Persona Profile: Lyela (Inactive)

Writer: Dana

Name: Lyela
Age: 34
Birthday: m6 d12
Rank: Hall Resident
Location: Vintner Hall, Amber Hills Hold

Physical Description of Persona:
If a person is pulled aside and is asked what they see in Lyela at first glance, they would immediately say that she is slender and petite. Which is true. The young woman only stands at 5' 5" and has a body structure that is quite narrow - which is certainly not good for bearing the strong sons her husband desires. But if that same person takes the time to truly look at Lyela, look beyond her pale complexion and her long, light-brown hair, they would see that her green eyes hold more Turns than they should.

Emotional Description of Persona:
Lyela has always been a sweet-natured individual. Even as a child, she was exceptionally well-behaved and hardly ever fussed. She is desperately shy though, and will never be the first to strike up idle talk with a stranger. But beneath her passive exterior, there is a spark of strength, a spark that continues to grow, little by little.

History of Persona:
Born and raised at Vintner Hall, Lyela grew up knowing both her loving parents, and her grandparents, who perhaps doted on her far more than they really should have. When she was old enough to begin working, her mother, who was one of the Hall's kitchen drudges, took young Lyela under her wing. Her mother always said that it was important for a wife to know how to cook and bake for her husband.

During Lyela's fifteenth Turn, her father died of a heart-attack, a loss that she still feels keenly, even now. Her mother was never quite the same after her husband's death, and living without him was very hard on both women.

When Lyela turned eighteen, she met a young man from Emerald Falls, Kohllan, who was at Vintner Hall for business. She was charmed by his handsome physique and polite manners, but was too shy to do anything more than answer his gentle, probing questions. All throughout that same Turn, Kohllan continued to come to the Hall, and always just happened to run into Lyela, and it didn't take her mother long to realize that he wasn't always coming to the Hall to do business.

Kohllan and Lyela were married the following Turn in the Emerald Fall's territory, but things didn't turn out the way Lyela had anticipated. The sweet and charming Kohllan she knew when they were courting seemed to disappear. He began to distance himself from her, and his treatment towards her began to take shape into something ugly and twisted. Nothing changed when she told him that she was pregnant with his child. And when it turned out to be a beautiful, baby girl, Kohllan's cruelty became even more malicious. He would take his anger out on her in the bedroom, abusing her in the worst way a man can treat a woman.

Lyela suffered in silence. Whenever she would show even the slightest hint of a rebellious nature, she was beaten down for it. This treatment lasted for Turns until she finally came to her senses and _knew_ she couldn't stay in that enviornment - especially with her daughter being so young and so vulnerable. Her plea for help reached her grandfather Tyrome, the only man she trusted. He came for Lyela, and both she and her daughter went away with him, to start up a new life in the place of her childhood.
