Physical Description of Persona:
Tyrome is quite vigorous for his age, with slightly thinning silver hair and friendly brown eyes surrounded by smile lines. His long nose has obviously been broken several times, and despite the rumors among apprentices that he got it in youthful brawls, those who know him know that the story is somewhat less glamorous. Fairly tall but very lean, he is not nearly as muscular as he used to be, which sometimes makes him nostalgic for the good old days.

Emotional Description of Persona:
Tyrome didn't really want to be Hallsecond, but agreed to step out of retirement to help out Fielton when the younger man was made Hallmaster. His entire attitude is a complete contrast to Fielton's--laid back, calm and endlessly patient, very few can think of a time in living memory when Tyrome actually lost his temper with someone. Although he would never contradict the Hallmaster in any way, he can usually be found quietly smoothing over problems when Fielton's rather brash diplomacy fails.

Although he was willing to help keep the Hall running smoothly in the short run, there was little that Tyrome wanted to do more than settle back to his quiet life of doting on the six grandchildren given to him by his two daughters. He kept a careful eye out for someone who might be confident enough to take his place but patient enough to deal with Fielton--and finally found that man in Daigoro. Shortly after Master Fielton's marriage to his second wife, Tyrome stepped gleefully down from the Hallsecond spot and is enjoying the lack of responsibility.

History of Persona:
Tyrome was born to a Master Woodcrafter at Vinter Hall. Although his father and grandfather before him had been excellent carpenters who kept Vinter Hall's gigantic press and various storage tools in excellent working order, Tyrome found the act of making wine far more interesting than the tools used to make it. His father was slightly disappointed when his son decided to apprentice to the Hall instead of following in his father's footsteps, but he didn't protest _too_ much.

It turned out to be a good choice, as Tyrome excelled at his chosen craft. He was twenty-four and almost ready to be promoted to senior journeyman when his mother and father found a wife for him. Although he wasn't overly excited about the idea of an arranged marriage, a few moments in Catarai's presence was all that was needed to change his mind.

Over the years Tyrome led a fulfilling life, as Catarai gave him two daughters. Their only son was lost in the plague, and though Catarai survived, she never fully recovered.

Tyrome was given his Master's knots at forty-eight, not long after he was privileged to see his first grandchild. Catarai's health continued to decline, and Tyrome turned down an offer to be Master of Apprentices to give him more time to spend with his wife. Her eventual death when she was fifty-one and he sixty was something he never fully recovered from.
