Persona Profile: Dyaera (Inactive)

Writer: Bree

Name: Dyaera
Age: 26
Birthday: m12 d24
Rank: Weyrlingstaff Assistant
Location: Dolphin Cove Weyr

Physical Description of Persona:
Dyaera stands just above five feet, something she has always resented. The last two turns have started giving a little more shape to her figure, and she no longer looks like a boy. She's even adopted a new haircut that almost borders on stylish. Her eyes are muddy brown and usually give nothing away. A slightly crooked nose is covered with freckles, which hardly show up against her well tanned skin.

Emotional Description of Persona:
The only good word for Dyaera is unpredictable. Her mother died when she was very young, leaving her to be raised by a doting and indulgent father who let her do almost anything she wanted. She becomes instantly enthralled with new interests, but is easily distracted by the next great adventure. So far only one thing has managed to hold her attention for more than a few weeks--her green dragon, Tilarth.

Dyaera is enthusiastic and seems very confident, but tends to drive people away when she starts behaving petulantly, which happens often when she doesn't get her way. If her confidence and enthusiasm cover any insecurities, she has to this date kept her own counsel about them.

Living under the discipline of the Weyr has done wonders for her, and although she still lapses into spoiled brat behaviour sometimes, Dyaera is a much more pleasant person to be around. Many attribute this to the calming influence of her dragon, Tilarth.

Since the accident, Dyaera has been far more subdued than usual, and is suffering a great deal of depression over her injuries and her prospect for recovery.

History of Persona:
Dyaera was born the daughter of a farmer and a cook at a minor holding. Her mother died when she was young, but instead of fostering her out like he was encouraged to do, Dykian decided to raise his young daughter by himself.

Her spoiled and somewhat petulant manner drove the other children crazy growing up, and she often found herself on the receiving end of mean jokes. By the age of twelve she had gotten into fights with most of the boys--fights that sometimes turned physical.

Life at the holding was fast becoming uncomfortable for the impetuous young girl, and her father was nearly at his wits end. Salvation came in the form of his sister, Kintria, who had recently taken up a position as a foster mother at Dream's End Weyr. Unsure exactly what life in the weyr would mean for his daughter, Dykian nonetheless sent Dyaera off to foster with her aunt, and was proud enough when she Impressed green Tilarth at twelve.

She made it through her weyrling training unscathed, but her age made it impossible to join a wing immediatly. Instead she helped out the Weyrlingmaster, developing a case of hero worship for the Weyrlingmaster's Second, Q'dan.

Once she graduated to the fighting wings, she transfered to Dolphin Cover Weyr. After only six months in the wings, she was terribly 'scored in the Threadfall tragedy at Dolphin Cove. Now she's doing her best to recover, as hard as it is.

Dragon's Name: Tilarth
Dragon's Age: 14
Dragon's Hatching Date: m12 d17
Dragon's Colour: Green
Description of Dragon:
Tilarth is quick and agile, much like her rider. In the Fall that scared Dyaera, Tilarth recieved a minor score, marring her otherwise perfect hide.
