Physical Description of Persona:
Tall and a little broadshouldered for a woman, Yanis stands a little over six feet tall. She wears her hair cropped short, with only dark curls covering her scalp when she isn't wearing a riding helmet. Her eyes are dark brown, set in a face more remarkable for its dusky complexion than any beauty. She was threadscored badly late last turn, and has scarring from her left shoulder and upper arm, across her chest, onto her stomach. She wears a padded bra to cover the damage, more to avoid pity from others than because she worries about the disfigurement.

Emotional Description of Persona:
She is supremely confident in herself and her abilities, never allowing herself to doubt much of anything. If she wants something - or someone - she tends to set about her goal with determination, usually succeeding.

History of Persona:
Born at Vista Point Weyr, she was raised a typical weyrbrat, and considered herself very lucky to Impress in one of the tiny clutches when she was only fourteen. Happy enough with her lot in life, she trained as a mason in her youth, a craft always in need for a rock-hewn Weyr. She transferred to Dragonsfall Weyr shortly after receiving her Senior Journeyman knots, since the cliffside location there seemed more of a challenge to her craft skills. There she met bronzerider T'layn, a young man a few turns younger than she, and they began a light hearted relationship that lasted for eight turns. Four of those were spent as weyrmates, and they have a daughter, Talya.

When Rising Moons was reopened, she transferred to that Weyr to help repair old damage, leaving her daughter to the care of her foster mother at Dragonsfall. Later she transferred North, settling at Telgar Weyr(tm) until Thread actually started to fall. A two turn weyrmating ended just as the Pass began, leaving her fond friends with brownrider R'honal. She was flying successfully with her wing until a tragic Fall that resulted in a scoring to her shoulder, chest and stomach. After over six months in healer care, she has been transferred south to Dolphin Cove to continue her recovering in a warmer climate.
