Persona Profile: N'dirren

Writer: Sia

Name: N'dirren
Age: 37 (deceased)
Birthday: m5 d20
Birthplace: Dragonsfall Weyr
Rank: Wingrider, Valley Wing
Location: Dragonsfall Weyr

Physical Description of Persona:
N'dirran is a handsome man. His hair is dark brown, now naturally streaked with silver at the temples. His hair is curly and kept long, though typically pulled back and away from his face. His eyes are hazel, gentle and warm, with only a hint of age around the edges that wasn't there before. He does not naturally command attention, yet folks are drawn to his easy posture and relaxed nature. He carries himself like someone quietly sure of where he is, even when others aren’t. He has a lean build- strong but not imposing, tall but not particularly broad. He and Jiebeth have a similar look, like a pet and their owner starting to look a little too similar. His clothes are simple and well-worn, and while he does not dress to be noticed, he has a habit of looking put-together anyway.

Emotional Description of Persona:
A gentle charmer with an old soul, N'dirran is long past the days of needing to impress anyone. He's happy to be the fixture in the background, someone that enjoys being at the party but not taking center stage. He can keep the conversation going or move the game along, but doesn't need much credit for it. He exudes a gentle charm that's not flirtatious (although he can turn it on, should the situation call for it), and has a dry sense of humour.

History of Persona:
Born and raised at Dragonsfall Weyrhold, N'dirran had dragonriders in his blood-- his grandfather, who was a greenrider-- but recent enough that it mattered to him. N'dirran struggled a lot in his education as a youth; letters swam before his eyes and he wasn't so hot on the arithmetic, either, so he had gratefully accepted a job as a labourer with the Weyrhold's herds. He took the chance to Stand every time he could, though they were few and far between. He eventually walked off the Sands with blue Jiebeth.

Weyrling training was eventful, and no matter how prepared he thought he was, N'dirran could never have prepared for the reality. There were several near misses and he was nearly held back from graduation, but he managed to slide through just fine. It would be a decade before Thread would fall. He had time to prepare.

And prepare they did. They learned to excel in wingdrills, and learned how to focus their energies and attentions before the real thing happened. They were ready for the first Fall, though they didn't escape without some minor burns. Their pattern of near misses and good luck continued for a decade, luckily without any major damage that kept them down longer than a few months.

Until their luck ran out.

Family and Friends
K'valdran, 45, Weyrleader, Dragonsfall Weyr (half-brother)
Q'vettan, 52, Weyrleader, Barrier Lake Weyr (cousin)

Dragon's Name: Jiebeth
Dragon's Age: 19 (deceased)
Dragon's Hatching Date: m13 d1
Dragon's Hatching Place: Dragonsfall Weyr
Dragon's Colour: Blue
Description of Dragon:
Jiebeth is a handsome dragon. He's flashy and irresistibly interesting to look at- his hide is sky-blue with dapples of darker blue throughout. He looks especially lovely just after he's been oiled to a bright blue shine. Built small and narrow, Jiebeth is sleek to the point of elegance. He is all angles and motion, more like an eel than a dragon. He never did fill out much, and even remained lean for blue and green dragons. He is small, fast, and expertly agile in the air. He may only be good in short sprints, but he takes pride in flying circles around his peers while he can.

This is a blue that does his best-- and his best is great, but it's a very good thing he's handsome. His heart is in the right place, and his instincts are good, but there aren't a lot of deep thoughts rattling around that skull of his. He loves working-- flying Sweep, going on Search, fighting Threadfall, and he encourages his rider to be out and active almost as much as him. He's equally excited for dragon games or airball, or any extra task his rider has in store that involves them working together. He especially loves mating flights, and he may take to the sky more often if N'dirran has left him idle too long. His thoughts race as quickly as he moves, though not often in tangible words. Images, emotions, _urges_ pass through his mind in a frequency nearly manic, and N'dirran has to work to keep from letting Jiebeth bleed too much into his own mind.
