Physical Description of Persona:
Y’dran moves with that confidence most bronzeriders have. At around 5’9, he tends to speak with his body language and his blue eyes equally as much as his tenor voice. His dark brown hair is kept short to hide the fact that it is starting to recede. Sometimes he just prefers not to shave, keeping up a rugged older appearance. He’ll say his choice in clothing is boring -- earth tones and blacks -- but Y’dran still has taste when it comes to his attire.

Emotional Description of Persona:
Y’dran has a love of theatrics. He loves a good story, a riveting song, a saga, a tale for the ages. You can always find him with the harpers, either enjoying the show or bringing one to life. If not that, then his free time is spent with his loved ones in some form -- meals together, laughing over card games, a day with family at the beach.

But all whimsy aside, Y’dran understands how fragile life can be and that’s why he tries to live in the moment. Beneath the charm and laughter is a man who understands how this story ends. Deeply philosophical, he will do what he can to fill the moments in between. He will love unreservedly, dance unashamedly, speak the words of his heart unabashedly. But, because of his knowledge of the fleeting, he shies away from responsibility, can easily make excuses for the behavior of others, and will attempt to dismiss his anger because he doesn’t want to hold a grudge. Despite Impressing a bronze, he has no desire to lead and yet he rules the Weyr in ways that have no ranking. His ambitions lie in a life well lived because he fears getting to the end of his life and having nothing rich to show for it.

History of Persona:
Yaldran began his life at Vista Point Weyr, the eldest son of dragonriders N’driel and Ylsara. As Weyr families went, despite his parents being weyrmates, he acquired a small gaggle of siblings and half-siblings, all of who basically terrorized the creche until they became the Weyrlingmaster’s problem as Candidates. Born in an Interval as well, Yaldran decided that his love of performance was enough to apprentice into Harper Hall.

This was a rude awakening for Yaldran. For while he could sing and strum a gitar, mastery over instruments and songwriting were beyond him. He excelled in the more theatrical parts of the craft but also found strengths in arbitration and diplomacy. Harper Hall would eventually use him as part entertainer, part spy, part diplomat. In between Hatchings, of course.

Which was when Seriaeth entered the picture when Yaldran was nineteen. Fresh out of his journeyman knots, Seriaeth made a charging line at him, shifting his course for the next few Turns. By the time Y’dran returned to his Harper studies, he was the father of a few children via flights. Lovers came and went -- some for just a flight, others for a few Turns -- but Y’dran could not called insensitive or callous.

And then Thread returned when he was thirty-four.

Thread taught Y’dran so much in all of the worst ways. The order and peace he had known dissolved and unraveled. Had he been imbued with a different set of traits, he might have become a man closed off to the world due to grief and loss. But he endured, then thrived, eschewing leadership but still inspiring others in his own way.

Eventually, Y’dran decided that he had grown old of Vista Point and wanted to explore a new setting. He intended to transfer alone but apparently, many of his family had the same desire to experience a new place so the clan moved to Dolphin Cove in Turn 12 of the Pass.

Seriaeth is a honeyed bronze tone with wingsails the color of pale sand. His hindquarters and wings are streaked pale with Threadscars. He is on the smaller size of his color’s range.

Seriaeth echoes his rider’s “in the moment” theme. He is a dragon that appreciates the little things, with a particular love of weyrlings and sunsets. He will absolutely shower compliments on any female dragon because who doesn’t like to feel special?
