Physical Description of Persona:
Floppy brown hair so dark it's almost black hangs above an expressive and angular face. Eyes, similarly dark, are bright, intense, and have already begun to crinkle at their edges into crow's feet, his tanned skin wearing early laugh lines that serve to emphasize his full-lipped mouth and his high cheekbones rather than detract. He clearly doesn't worry about shaving his perpetual shadow of dark stubble every day, though it is rare for it to progress much beyond that.
L'kav has the look of a man who is the master of the rider lifestyle, not a slave to a particular routine. He stands lean and light on his feet despite his big frame. He ended up slightly above average in height, with enough bulk to show he's quite active even outside of dragonriding duties. He spends a fair amount of his alone time running, swimming, training, and hunting, with a light layer of dark hair covering his body and mostly faded scars along his hands, forearms. A particularly bad scar dragging from the left side of his neck down to centre of his chest and another slicing horizontal along his abdomen are from his days of inexperience and, indeed, arrogance in his first few years of hunting. L'kav's neck received a nasty Threadscore a few turns back and it permanently claimed a mark-sized chunk of hair at the base of his hairline, its perimeter now fenced in white. It’s unclear if that white hair has any plans to invade the rest, but it'll probably be sooner than he’d like.
Emotional Description of Persona:
There's a lot of heat packed into L'kav's personality. As a child he was loud, boisterous, and more than a little headstrong and as a man not much has changed. He's still the same warm and enthusiastic guy who gravitates toward like-minded folk, though he's mellowing slightly. He's developing the kind of resolve and introspection of a more level-headed, slow burning, considerate person. Almost like he might actually be outgrowing the magnitude of his fiery temper (almost). Had L'kav impressed a bronze or brown, some steely focused dragon that might have fast tracked him into a leadership position as he once hoped, he might never have had to fall in line and bite his tongue quite like he does as a Wingrider. He's had to learn the art of _listening_. He's had to grasp _discipline_. He had a notorious habit of mouthing off in Weyrlinghood, so it is encouraging that more than 10 Turns on he is more perceptive of when it is and isn't the time to speak so _freely_. Of course that temper is still there and it's still hot enough to singe your hand, but L'kav's better at containing it and thinking things through. Harnessing that fire appropriately, productively, could still use a little work. If it simmers too long beneath the surface, if it bubbles up more than he would like, it's usually a sign he’s trying to be professional despite how much he may actually despise the circumstances or person (or both).
Needless to say, he's a driven man. No half measures. L'kav's focus easily narrows into oblique tunnel vision during Threadfall, and any other serious contexts. Flights, fights, parties, games, sweeps, 'drills - if he cares about it (which he usually does) then there's more than a hint of intensity about him. His enthusiasm has its own aura. Personal bonds are some of his most valuable possessions. He's the dependable sort, eager to help, cheer up, defend, or kick someone's ass into gear. He doesn't discriminate when it comes to those close to him and it's rare for L'kav to take things personally - but look out. A struck nerve riles him like a call to war. He's spiteful in the heat of the moment and remorseful once he's cooled.
Ultimately he much prefers the role of lover, not fighter, defaulting into humour (tasteful or otherwise) as a means of coping. There’s a lot to be desired in the world, a lot he desires himself. That longing isn't content to live behind any silence or limitations. He isn't always certain what to do with or about it. While privately frustrating, it has made him all the more open and demonstrative with his affections. L’kav’s gregarious without effort, generous without a second thought - he wants people to be at ease, he needs people to feel at home. His is a warm, welcoming presence that has an aversion to anything tasting of disrespect or derision. Then it gets incinerated.
History of Persona:
Born Lykavis just outside of Opal Cove Hold. As the son of the Pearl Shoals Hold's archivist and his wife, it was unclear whether his disinterest in book learning and reading were despite or because of his family. He was a wild and unruly child, too rambunctious to sit still, too indifferent to punishment, too rebellious to focus long enough on tasks that might have actually been intriguing or helpful to him as he grew. But his was an undoubtedly happy childhood, lots to do when he wanted, and even more when he didn't. With a consistent apprenticeship or fixed route in life, he might have settled down a bit more easily in his teens had he not been swept up by a Search dragon at the same time as his older brother, Lyvalen.
That had his blood pumping from the moment he was on a dragon. It never stopped. Not when Lyvalen was sent to one Weyr and he another, not when all his friends Impressed that first Hatching. Not when he was left on the Sands his second, third, or tenth Hatching. He ended up in River Bluff as part of their great need for suitable candidates, and it was there that Lykavis was indeed deemed suitable at last.
Feyonth came into his life without any real concern for how he might have felt about her color, for how his family might either . All that mattered to her was that they were destined to be together, and that was that. Like most boys Lykavis had had his sights set on bronze, grand (and maybe delusional) dreams of being Weyrleader one day, and the sudden appearance of an equally headstrong girl in his mind wasn't his idea of where he would end up when that Search Dragon first found him.
But she was _his_, and somehow that was better than whatever _could_ have been on another dragon.
It was not without difficulty of course, though that could hardly be attributed to Feyonth. He didn’t get through Weyrlinghood on a clean record, far from it, and his insubordination had to learn hard lessons about biting its tongue at the advent of the Pass (at least in the context of the Wings). L'kav adjusted surprisingly well once that became the norm, the purpose, the reason he and Feyonth were finally doing _well_. Outside of duties, L'kav felt the different attitudes towards greens and other colors rather keenly, even when he'd rather not. He and Feyonth were nothing if not determined, yet she wasn't exactly pleased whenever that drive inevitably got him into trouble - brawls, fights, punitive action, low-key threats. A few Turns after graduation and he had made himself enough of a problem that it was _suggested_ he try his hand in a new environment. He ended up in Far Island and the past few Turns have shown a marked improvement in his behaviour, and with fewer incidents pinned to his record he started to prove he actually had brains in there somewhere.
The destruction of River Bluff shook him more than he realized. It wasn't like he had the world crumbling around him like his friends there had, but being safe and across the continent made L'kav feel _worse_ that he hadn't been there, couldn't do anything, and that the people he'd known were now simply lost to the tragedy of time. In its aftermath, he applied himself with greater determination in the Wings, as if those people he might actually be able to protect in some way.
When he heard his friend A'drios was headed to Dragonsfall in Turn 11, it piqued L'kav's curiosity in more than a few ways. He hadn't been anywhere else since Feyonth hatched, or since his mandatory transfer, hadn’t travelled as far or met as many people as he said he would when newly Impressed (too busy getting his hide tanned), and he hadn't seen much of his brother L'val, either. It was time for them to stretch their wings into something new, whether it would be amongst familiar and friendly faces or otherwise was all just part of the adventure.

Description of Dragon:
Feyonth is every bit a sleek and stylish flyer as she is a serene statue, composed and calm. She's of average size and not particularly striking in color, but L'kav has never thought so and neither has she. Only a few minor Threadscore scars along her back, between her wings, and only visible when her big wings are furled. She is a tactile creature and if she's not sunning or relaxing on her own, she's almost exclusively amongst her fellow females.
And who is the sweetest, most loving green? Who could possibly be the most darling and daring of the Wings? The entire Weyr? Maybe even all of Pern?
Not Feyonth.
Feyonth _is_ sweet and loving, but that is something she reserves primarily for her rider. She unquestionably accepts all praise L'kav gives her and she doesn't need that from any other male as long as she's got him. Unsurprisingly she is prone to jealousy if his affections concentrate somewhere else for too long, and whether L'kav likes it or not it is a rare thing for her to be caught by the same dragon twice.
Had she not been shelled green, she probably would have made a fine gold. She embodies all the stereotypes of a quietly haughty and self-assured prima donna, while lacking a maternal bone anywhere in her body. She's a passionate and altogether confident dragon, as determined as she is lacking in self-doubt. Thankfully it hasn't gotten her in much trouble - she's got quite the nose for business when it counts. Fun and games are fine and she _can_ be a good sport, but someone has to buckle down and she likes it to be her.
