Physical Description of Persona:
Kedon, like K'deren before him, bears a strong resemblance to his father – he is outsized for his age. Though he has the gangly awkwardness of adolescence, and he clearly has more growing to do, he is tall, broad shouldered, and stocky. He has his father's hazel eyes, but he has honey blond hair, the one bequest his mother left him.
Kedon's hands are rough, and his fingernails are chewed close. His chosen profession makes nail biting all the more unseemly, but a foul taste has never stopped him before. Kedon also prefers to go shoeless or besandaled as often as he can manage, and this results in filthy, calloused feet. He prefers short pants, but also insists that they extend below his knees. He can often be found shirtless, as well.
Emotional Description of Persona:
Kedon also inherited his father's patrilineal bull-headedness, but in many ways, it manifested in quirky obsessiveness rather than outright stubbornness. For instance, Kedon bites his nails specifically because he obsesses over keeping them all of equal length and shape – of course, the very imprecise act of biting them contributes to an unending cycle of constant biting.
Kedon is a sensitive boy in that he takes things very personally, though he also keeps his feelings guarded. He empathizes with everyone and everything – except Thread, of course – and keenly feels any and all death, even necessary death. He chose to learn the beasthealers' craft because he wanted to ensure that every creature in the weyr's care had as joyful a life as possible before they had to die, as food or otherwise.
By the same token, Kedon has a soft spot for kids on the receiving end of bullying, and he won't hesitate to throw punches if necessary, though he would rather resolve problems with words. Even bullies have feelings.
While K'don still has a mind to strive to emulate his father – perhaps all the more now that he is a brownrider, too – he has also decided to seek to shift his passion for beasthealing into dragonhealing, as much as he can once his training allows it.
History of Persona:
Kedon was born to a woman who bedded his father in the throes of flightlust and never wanted a child in the first place. He may just as easily have been betweened, but K'deren's joy kept her from ridding herself of the pregnancy. Though Kedon grew up a weyrbrat whose father had many children, he never felt deprived of his father's affection – there was always more than enough for all of them.
Kedon was a bit big for his age from the start, and he was often a protector and friend for any small or quirky brats who found themselves with few friends. He also spent many hours climbing on Donneth and climbing on the fences hedging the beast pens. From an early age, he felt a kinship with all living things, which drove him to apprentice to the beasthealers and to Stand from the moment he was deemed old enough for both.
Kedon became K'don at the age of 13, when the sturdy brown Maciath bowled over the soon-to-be newly Impressed goldrider.
Dragon's Name: Maciath
Dragon's Age: 2
Dragon's Colour: Brown
Description of Dragon:
Maciath is not particularly any taller or longer than the average brown, but he is thicker. Upon reaching adulthood, this stocky boulder of a boy will walk and fly about with muscle rippling visibly beneath his ruddy sandstone brown hide. Until then, he might just look a bit pudgy.
Maciath is a jovial sort of dragon, and perhaps an impulsive one, too. While he might have flowery words to bandy about while standing still, he is just as often ready to bound into action without thinking things through entirely. He is steady and even-tempered most of the time as is expected of dragons of his color, as long as he remembers to take the time – or as long as K'don steps in to remind him.
