Physical Description of Persona:
Maiz stands about average height at 5'5 with a hourglass figure. She has always had hips that were considered wide, but they are even more prominent after the birth of her children. Her hair is a dark auburn brown that falls in waves to her shoulders. She has strikingly green eyes framed by long dark lashes. Her nose is a bit long for her face and has a slight bump. On the whole, she is an attractive young woman.

Emotional Description of Persona:
Once unbelievably trusting, Maiz tends to be very distrustful of people now. In large groups she will rarely talk. Even in smaller groups she tends to be very shy. More than anything she likes simply spending time with her dragon, or by herself. She does like children though and prefers their company to that of most adults. Menial tasks, such as cooking or gardening sooth Maiz, so she will often volunteer for such jobs. Right now Indyath is her life, so Maiz seems to think her entire world should revolve around the green.

History of Persona:
Maiz was born in a small cothold. One of ten children, she was hardly noticed by her parents. She never thought her life would be any different than that of her own mother- married off for a political alliance and have a life full of bearing children.

She was working in the fields when that all changed. H'kar, a bronzerider from Vista Point, was riding low on a sweep and noticed her pretty face. Any weyrbred girl would know that only green and blues searched, but Maiz was from an isolated cothold and woefully ignorant about dragonriders. So H'kar's claim of "searching" her, seemed reasonable enough. Without giving the 15 turn old girl much time to think, H'kar whisked her off to the Weyr. Upon her arrival at Vista Point Weyr, Maiz was not led to the candidate barracks, but to H'kar's weyr. It didn't take Maiz long to figure out what it meant to be "searched" by a bronzerider.

It was pathetically easy for H'kar to play his mind games with Maiz. She was young, away from her friends and family for the first time, raised to be obediant to men and ignorant about Weyr life. He was sweet to her, he was kind, he was loving- and it was all part of his plan to keep her solely for himself. Though he set her up with a job in the kitchens, he told Maiz that talking while working was strongly discouraged- thus she didn't bond with her fellow workers, and they in turn assumed that she was somehow mentally challenged.

Maiz gave H'kar two turns of her life and bore him twin sons before she realized how he had controlled her life. When she was 17 impressed a green named Indyath. Once she was a weyrling she slowly began to realize how H'kar had conned her into believing that women were oppressed in the Weyr like they were in the holds.

It was very difficult for Maiz to accept that a man she loved had used her so badly. Having Indyath, who loved her unconditionally and for who she was, helped tremendously. To make her break from H'kar complete, upon graduating weyrlinghood Maiz transfered to Dragonsfall Weyr.

Description of Dragon:
Indyath is an average size green of a dark leafy color. Her features are nicely proportioned, and Maiz would of course claim her to be the most beautiful dragon on all of Pern. For her part Indyath is young and tends act it. She is a chatter box with other dragons.
