24
Birthday: m12 d2
Rank: Junior Weyrling
Location: River Bluff Weyr
Physical Description of Persona:
With a sturdy body from years of practising sailing and questing the forests around Lizard's Cove, Bedan has yet to hit his full height. If his father is anything to go by, when he does it will be quite impressive. His large brown eyes are hidden behind a mop of brown hair, which his mother often threatens to lop off with shears. This is the one area he has ever stood up to her in; without the protective strands his emotions would be all too open to the world. His nose is short and slightly upturned, and his skin is always tanned a deep brown with all the time he spends outside the hold.
Emotional Description of Persona:
Hardworking but slightly withdrawn, Bedan has a dreamer's tendency to seek out solitude. He finds the peace of sailing his small skiff or hacking his way through tropical forests preferable to staying in the Hold. From a young age, he disliked being stuck in the hold and fussed over by his mother. Having an elder brother and three sisters has taught him to be watchful of those around him; the fury of an elder sister annoyed is surpassed only by the fury of three. His quiet nature has often led to him serving as confidante to his siblings and, occasionally, other young members of the hold, but only when they can catch him. Consequently he knows far more about what goes on between people than perhaps he would have liked.
History of Persona:
Born the fourth child of Pella and Basran, a sailor in Lizard's Cove Seahold, Bedan spent his early turns idolising his elder brother. He begged to be taught how to sail as soon as he was old enough, and took to it like a bird to the air. When his brother joined the main ships, he gave Bedan the small skiff he had built on the condition that he take good care of it. Bedan made use of this gift as often as he could; nothing could compare to the feel of the wind between the sails skimming him over the waves.
His quiet and independent manner held him slightly apart from the other hold children, and he never made a truly close friend. But he always had a listening ear to anyone with a problem, and was well liked by those who confided in him. From when he was very young, he had an uncanny ability to tell when someone needed comforting, or just an ear to vent at. His sisters especially were fond of him for this, and the fact that he wasn't prone to pulling jokes or embarrassing them like most younger brothers did.
Bedan had his life all planned out; in a few turns he'd be allowed out with the men on the main boats, and then he could start to work his way up the ranks. Maybe he might one day be the captain of his own ship. Imagine his surprise, then, when the Searchrider from River Bluff Weyr picked him out to Stand for the next clutch on the Sands! With a sack of clothing and his mother's blessings, he left his Hold to see what the Weyr could hold for him. After all, he could always return if it didn't work out!

Dragon's Name: Telranth
Dragon's Age: 9
Dragon's Hatching Date: m11 d8
Dragon's Colour: Blue
Description of Dragon:
Telranth is still a young dragonet, but he doesn't show any signs of being a giant. His body tends more towards being graceful than stocky, seemingly built for speed rather than strength. His hide is an even sea-blue, the colour of his rider's home cove. He's rather wordy for a young dragon, a trait he certainly didn't pick up from his shy rider!
