Persona Profile: Jarthir (Inactive)

Writer: Bree

Name: Jarthir
Age: 41
Birthday: m4 d23
Rank: Senior Journeyman Smith
Location: NPC Weyr
Job: Smith
Craft: Smith
Craft Rank: Senior Journeyman
Speciality: Jeweler

Physical Description of Persona:
Jarthir is a handsome man, and he knows it. In fact, he cultivates it, from his carefully fitted clothing to his perfectly groomed hair. His dark blue eyes sit beneath straight brows and are a perfect foil for his dark skin and black hair. His strong jaw and well muscled shoulders are the only thing that save him from being pretty. Unlike many of his fellow smiths, his muscles are not the natural result of his craft, but a conscious effort to keep his body in shape. His chosen specialty gives him little heavy exercise, but has given him deft and nimble fingers

Emotional Description of Persona:
Jarthir is a man who loves beauty, be it in nature, jewelry or women. He is extremely proud of his skill with precious metals and stones, and enjoys telling tales of his finest works...and the important and beautiful women who wear them. His roving eye for beautiful women has given him problems with his long-suffering wife, who has little choice now in the strict environment of Smith Hall but to accept his constant apologies every time he strays. His generally heartfelt apologies...and his sincere dedication to her happiness between affairs...have kept her from leaving him so far

History of Persona:
Jarthir always liked pretty things. Unlike his father, who was a far more traditional smith, Jarthir preferred the delicate beauty of the glasscrafter's creations and the jeweler's arts. His father didn't care _what_ specialty his son studied, as long as he studied something, so Jarthir was always supported in his choices by his family.

Around seventeen turns, Jarthir realized that the metalsmiths were building impressive shoulder and arm muscles--and distracting many of the eligible young ladies away from his ample charms. Determined to keep himself attractive to the pretty ladies who were, after all, his very favorite thing to collect, Jarthir dedicated himself to a good dose of daily exercise.

At twenty-three, Jarthir found a pretty young lady who wasn't willing to let him seduce her into an indiscretion no matter how many pretty baubles--or long winded compliments--he gave her. Promptly obsessed, Jarthir set about winning Dalicia's devotion--and more importantly, her father's permission. Married within the turn, Jarthir soon discovered that having her as his wife was somewhat less exciting than chasing her as an illicit affair. Still, he _did_ care for her, and did his best to make her happy.

He has strayed a few times over the turns, but he manages to keep his affairs brief and quiet... and is generally so sincere with his apologies that Dalicia hasn't left him. Yet.
