Crayon Awards: Favorite New Male Persona (July 2016)

Physical Description of Persona:
T'shi is of average height. His hair is sandy blonde, and his eyes are dark blue. He has a pleasant face, with a large nose and permanent smile lines around the mouth. His build is broad shouldered and well-muscled, and he is covered in freckles.

Emotional Description of Persona:
T'shi is known for his sociable nature and charm. He is confident and secure in who he is, and likes to joke around. He takes a genuine interest in the welfare of people around him, and has been known to be a mediator and confidant. He dislikes being thought of as a gossip or a rumor-spreader.

As a youth, T'shi was hot-headed and tended to act before he thought, and he gained a reputation as reckless and a fighter. Acclimating to weyrlife and Impressing helped to discipline these tendencies, though occasionally he still pulls stunts. Now he's known for being diligent and responsible in his work. When he's focused on a task, he tends to zero in on the fine details, occasionally at the expense of the big picture.

History of Persona:
Tashiran was born to fisher parents in Topaz Sea Hold Hold territory. He idolized his older brother Yashari and followed him around as soon as he could walk. His mother had lost as many children as she bore alive, so she treasured them and wanted to give them all of Pern. Unfortunately, being from a small fishing cot meant there wasn't much to give, and it was clear they'd be fishers for life.

Tashiran tended to be picked on by the other kids at the hold, and compensated with aggression of his own. He was seen as a problem child. His acting out became worse as a teenager as he struggled with self-loathing and the disappointment of not being able to formally
apprentice to the Woodcraft. His parents despaired of ever finding him a wife.

His life changed when his uncle visited the cothold when with his dragonrider weyrmate when Tashiran was 16. Her green Searched him, and his uncle Talern supported the Search, knowing the boy would be happier at the Weyr where he could afford to apprentice rather than be a fisherman. His father agreed to let the boy leave for Dolphin Cove Weyr. Tashiran soon found there were better things to do at the Weyr than fight, such as pursue his interest in woodworking in a formal manner. Occasionally he overindulged in his new freedoms and got into trouble, but one missed Hatching took care of that.

He Impressed brown Iberath at the age of 20, becoming T'shi. When Thread began to fall again, he earned a reputation as a bit of a hot-head but a solid flyer, and has only suffered one major Threadscore. A few months ago he felt the need for change, and transferred to Dragonsfall Weyr to be nearer his cousin and aunt.

Dragon's Name: Iberath
Dragon's Age: 15
Dragon's Colour: Brown
Description of Dragon:
Iberath is a large brown of a pale color, more like tan cliffs or sand than like a deep, woody brown. He is stocky in form, with a deep chest, shorter tail, and broad wings.

In temperament, Iberath is classic brown - unshakeable, pragmatic, and endlessly reassuring to his rider. He serves as a calm counterbalance to T'shi's recklessness and anger, and has helped his rider be more conscientious and dutiful. But Iberath still understands the value of fun and spontaneity and is happy to chase greens and golds, or remind his rider to do more hobbies and relax more.
