Y'gel had taken a break from his duties to the riders at Riverbluff as
they were being transferred slowly to other Weyrs. When he'd escorted
the final injured dragon and his rider, he took some time to see his
weyrmate and the children.

"Papa," Brigel screamed and came pelting toward him.

Y'gel scooped him up with a smile as the head tucked into his
shoulder. "How are you doing my little man," he asked.

The little head nodded and snuggled closer. He reached Briata and
wrapped an arm around her.

"You alright?"

"I'm better now," she smiled up at him and her son. "I think N'vanik
wants to see you as soon as you can."

He smiled, "I kind of figured he would." Then he looked down at her.
"Do you like this place? Would you want to stay here?"

"I'll go where you go," she said.

"Not what I asked," he chuckled. "Do you like it here?"

"It's very much like River bluff at least the climate is," she said.
"I like it well enough."

"Alright then," he said and kissed her. "I'll go talk to N'vanik." He
put Brigel down and strode away.

Moments later he found the Weyrleader.

"Y'gel, how are you?" N'vanik stood and gripped the other bronzerider's arm.

"Tired," he smiled. "But happy my family got out safely thanks to you."

"I'm glad I got there when I did." The tsunami had been bad enough,
but the earthquake that followed had been much worse.

"Me too," he smiled. "I've come to inquire whether you might have a
position for me here at Dolphin Cove."

"We'd love to have you," N'vanik said with a grin. "Would you consider
taking the Weyrdragonhealer position?" He didn't want to assume.

Y'gel's eyes crinkled and the deep dimple in his cheek puckered. "I
would be honored," he said."Were you aware that Briata was able to
hear dragons?"

N'vanik nodded. "She's mentioned it, and Rhosyn was disappointed she
wouldn't Stand."

"Yes," he nodded with a resigned look. "It just isn't what she wants.
But, she is a wonderful weyrmate and mother. I am a very lucky man."
And he knew that to his core. His weyrmate was a beautiful woman both
inside and out. The wonder to him was that she loved him.

"You are. And so am I. I wish the situation was different, but I'm
happy to have a Weyrdragonhealer and I'm thrilled to have Nisha at the
same Weyr." He'd be able to see her more often now and not have to
worry about the time difference.

"And I'm sure you can have her more frequently should you want," Y'gel
smiled. "I think Briata has us almost unpacked already. She likes it
here."

"That's good. I hope all of you can really find a home here." The way
N'vanik and so many others had. "If you need anything let me know. The
Headwoman can help with basic necessities, of course, but I'd be happy
to help with anything that makes it easier to settle in." One of his
fondest wishes was to have Nisha live closer, and now that was coming
true.

"I'm sure we will," Y'gel smiled. "Not the way I would have wished to
come but the weather is what we're familiar with at least." He widened
his smile to a grin.Traditionally the Weyrdragonhealer was nominally
attached to the Weyrleaders wing and he made sure he met and
socialized with the wingriders. It paid in the end if they knew him
before they were injured. "When's the next wing meeting?"

"Next sevenday. We pushed it back a bit due to all the new riders
arriving." It would give them at least a few days to settle into their
new quarters and get their bearings.

"Thanks that sounds like a plan. Briata has arranged things with your
Headwoman so I just need to go get some sleep in my new weyr. I
appreciate the opportunity," he added sticking his hand out. "Just
wish it were under other circumstances."

N'vanik took the offered hand. "We can call this the silver lining."
