Description: E'naer's Eillispeth has a Mating Flight again.
Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Date: month 11, day 28 of Turn 7
**Blood only,** E'naer reminded when Eillispeth swooped down to fell a
herdbeast. The green snarled and tore out the beast's belly.
** You DO want a proper mating, don't you?** Not that it mattered if
her flight was left short because she had stuffed herself, she didn't
lay eggs. But E'naer knew he and Eillie would enjoy it more if it
lasted longer.
}: Fine,:{ Eillispeth grunted and moved to suck out the blood from the
throat artery.
Imalkyth trumpeted his intention to chase and K'ale trotted down the
steps from his Weyr to the flight rooms. By now he was resigned to
the fact it didn't matter in the least to his lifemate how he felt
about the riders. He would chase the greens he liked and he liked
Eillispeth.
"Hi," he smiled and nodded at E'naer as other riders gathered.
R'axe found himself walking the familiar path to the flightroom as
Jayth announced, with great fervor, that he was going to chase
Eillispeth. At first the bluerider couldn't remember who the green
belonged to since it was nearly impossible to memorize _every_ dragon
name in the Weyr, but the moment he walked in to the flightroom and
saw E'naer, R'axe grinned. He remembered the greenrider from the
dragonpoker game they'd had-- he also remembered the young, whiny
weyrmate that E'naer had as well.
**But this is a mating flight. How about winning this one, huh?**
R'axe told Jayth.
}:It'll be my pleasure.:{ Jayth assured him.
J'kri wasn't surprised that Rademerth wanted to chase Eillispeth
again. And he'd like to have another "lesson" from his former teacher.
J'kri joined the other riders and smiled when he spotted R'axe. Their
blues seemed to chase a lot of the same greens.
Another large brown joined the throng of waiting males. Aznith kneaded
the ground with sharp talons, waiting for Ellispeth to finish. His
muscles coiled and bunched, preparing for the burst of energy he would
need to chase.
Ma'din strode into the flight room, his walk more of a confident
swagger than any semblance of dragging his feet. The fact that it was
E'naer didn't faze him; he'd gotten used to waking up beside men,
though it wasn't something he preferred in the slightest. It was
pleasure, nothing more.
E'naer smiled and nodded at the familiar faces. He was bit surprised
not to see Galerith among the blues. M'shan and his brown did come,
bit late for Eillispeth was already finished with her food. Full off
energy, she called their attention, spreading her wings. Sun glittered
on her shining green hide. With a cry, she launched herself to the
air. }: You have to do work to catch me!:{ she challenged them.
}; I'm strong! :{ Juth boasted. His rider had barely time to scrable
away from him before the brown launched himself after her.
}:I will have you!:{ Rogueth declared, tossing himself aloft to follow
the green.
On the ground, K'ran's skin prickled as he hurried to the flight room,
willing this to be over soon.
Aznith shot up after Eillispeth with strong sweeps of his wings. }: I
will fly you far better, beauty. We can fly high and fall far. :{
Eillispeth was experienced, she knew how to use the winds to her
advantage. She had soon gained a remarkable lead on the males. She was
not going to make it easy for them.
A croon of praise for the glowing green came from young brown Imalkyth
as he swung free of the press of males following her. She was lovely
in flight and he wanted her for his own.
Jayth reveled in the speed that Eillispeth exhibited as she flew far
ahead of them. It was easy for the handsome blue to put some distance
between himself and the larger, bulkier dragons as he streamlined his
flight and surged forward ahead of other males. }:Sweet
Eillispeth.:{He called after her in a tantalizing warble.
}:I will fly you well again,:{ Rademerth called. }:You know I am the
best!:{ He slipped past a brown and an older blue, gaining on the
quick green.
}: Work for it, boys, :{ Eillispeth taunted them, letting them
flirtingly close and then twisting away from them again. The first
chasers were already dropping out, not being able to keep up with her.
Juth realized he had to spare his strenght. She didn't seemed to be
tiring soon. If he pushed his strenght to the limit, he migh be able
to caught up with her, just to be too tired to actually catch her. No,
he had to bide his time and wait until she tired and slowed down.
Eillispeth was beautiful and crafty. Rogueth felt her move past him
and twisted upwards, following her and trying to make the perfect
opening to grasp the prize.
Aznith did work for his prize. Wide wings thrust him forward,
following her twist with a sharp bank. She was a slippery green and
the chase proved to be a challenge that he was enjoying. He found
himself behind her once again, eye on the glimmering tail.
Rademerth's size made him a bit slower than some of the blues, but it
also gave him a little more power. His strong wingbeats kept him close
to Eillispeth. }:I am strong and handsome! See how I fly for you.:{
Eillispeth twisted away from Rademerth. It took her right in front off
Aznith. Now, there was handsome, big brown. She crooned him
encouragingly.
Aznith wasted no time in twining his neck with Ellispeth's with a cry
of triumph, then a croon. }: Beauty... :{
Below, Ma'din strode out of the circle towards E'naer with purpose.
Linked with his dragon completely, he caught E'naer in an embrace and
hauled him to the furs.
Jayth disappointedly dropped from the sky when Eillispeth picked
Aznith, but on the ground R'axe, quite eagerly, turned to J'kri and
grabbed him up. He was very glad that Jayth and Rademerth seemed to be
in one accord when it came to chasing greens.
The bitter disappointment from Rademerth was interrupted with a flash
of excitement as familiar arms wrapped around J'kri. He grinned at
R'axe as the older man led him away. Losing wasn't bad at all when he
had this to look forward to.
Rogueth dove towards the ground as it became clear who the green had
chosen. He settled in for a long flight back to the weyr to cool off.
Meanwhile his rider shivered as he backed away from the weyr, thinking
about a cold soak.
