Physical Description of Persona:
Herlis is a tall, well-muscled man and just about everything about him shouts Seacrafter. From his usually wind-tousled dark hair, to his stubbly chin and of course, the unmistakable smell of the sea that always seems to follow him. His eyes are of a very dark brown colour and are quite expressive, seeming to light up best when setting sail.

Emotional Description of Persona:
Herlis is a quiet man, speaking up only when he sees the need to, which is usually only to give commands to his crew or to address his loved ones. He is a very practical man and finds himself struggling to deal with matters of the heart, the only exception being when he's with his children. Around them he suddenly turns into a warm, inviting and most cheerful man. While at sea, he demands utmost respect from his people. Anyone second-guessing him in front of the rest of the crew will find themselves looking for a new job at the very next port. On the other hand, if you put your trust in him and prove your worth, this captain will be fair and a staunch defender in need.

History of Persona:
Born and raised in a minor Seahold, a love of the Sea has always been in Herlis' heart. Growing up amongst his many brothers as one of the youngest taught him to be quiet and only speak up when he was sure he wanted the attention. His childhood was fairly uneventful and it wasn't until he was twelve turns old that he could finally board a ship as a proper apprentice. He kept his head down and worked his way up the ranks quietly but steadily. He met a lovely young lady and fell in love not long after making it to Journeyman rank. Their marriage wasn't the easiest, as Herlis was away from home most of the time, but they managed and were blessed with two healthy daughters. Herlis worked harder than ever, wanting to provide for his growing family, and made it to the rank of Master, only to get command of the Southern Star when his old captain retired. When Chayale revealed her third pregnancy to her husband, there seemed no reason for concern. Herlis was at sea the day his wife went into early labor and gave her life giving birth to their first and only son. By the time Herlis made it back home Chayale was buried and his son taken into the care of a wet-nurse. The following months, turns, Herlis buried himself in his work and spent whatever time he had left with his three children. With the Seacraft Hall opening and his children's foster mother's worsening health issues, he finally arranged to have his family moved. With Yalelis, Herale and Chalis settled in with their new foster mother, Herlis is looking forward to setting sail again, now in service of the new Seacraft Hall.
