Smith Craft
The sound of ringing hammers is as audible as the sound of the Hallmaster's booming voice as you walk the halls of SmithHall at Garnet Valley. Surrounded by lots of good ore and minerals, the location is a perfect backdrop for Smithing in all its facets. In some rooms, glassmiths create beauty from sand, and in other rooms, jewelsmiths create miraculous adornments for the Ladies of Pern.
In the beginning, the Smithcraft Hall was set inside a large cavern, but soon light and ventilation became an issue. To combat this, a large, airy workspace was constructed on the face of the mountain with large windows covered by a specially designed grate to protect the glass. That section is still in use today, despite advances in lighting and power. A newer section on the mountain itself has been built and designed for Starsmithing. Those Crafters are few in number at the moment, but growing every Turn.
Today, beautiful items of luxury and practical usage items are turned out in equal numbers, and the Crafthall is regaining much of the former Mastery lost after the effects of the Plague.

Smith Craft: Daily Apprentice Schedules
Introduction
These schedules are meant to be an example only and exclude restdays. Classes will be changed on a regular basis; however, meals and chore/study periods will not. Apprentices are expected to dedicate the majority of their time learning all aspects of the Smithcraft so they can decide which specialization is best for them upon reaching journey rank. Senior Apprentices are required to complete a project before being considered for rank promotion; this project may be worked on with any Master or Journeyman. Projects must be approved by the Hallmaster before any work is done and will be periodically checked by the Hallmaster unless duty is delegated to another Smith of rank due to time constraints.
