How to Get a Ranking Persona

• The process for getting a ranking persona depends on your status within the club.

New Member

Rankers are reserved for members who have a proven interest in the club and have a firm grasp of Triad canon, and therefore we do not allow a new or returning member a ranker as their first persona. It is possible, however, to have a ranker while still on mentorship if the member has been active in the club and the Council and their mentor agrees that they have a good understanding of canon.

In order to gain a ranking persona for open rank, you'll have to do three things. First, you'll have to submit a perfect persona sheet. This is a sheet that has no errors in Pern canon or Triad canon, and is logical, spell checked, and well thought out. Second, you'll need approval of the Triad Council. Third, you'll need approval of the Level One Ranker in charge of the area your persona will be. If you have any questions, you can e-mail the Triad Weyrs Council. Level One Rank is almost never considered for new members, and Level Two rank may require a writing sample.

Out of Mentorship

A member out of mentorship wishing to obtain rank should first ask the Level One Ranker in charge of the area in question for permission to submit a persona for a given rank. If the Level One Ranker gives permission, a sheet may be submitted, and should be close to or completely error free. If a member is interested in an open Level One rank, they should e-mail the Triad Council.

In Mentorship

A member on mentorship wishing to obtain rank should first ask the Level One Ranker in charge of the area in question for permission to submit a persona for a given rank. If the Level One Ranker gives permission, a sheet may be submitted, and should be close to or completely error free. Level One Rank is almost never considered for members still on mentorship.

Please note, it is our policy that a members first persona should not be a ranker.
