Description: Attend the DCW Hatching together
Location: Dolphin Cove Weyr
Date: month 8, day 12 of Turn 7
They had flown Thread earlier that day. Despite the fact that there
was a lot of snow, the temperature had still been just warm enough to
allow some of the silvery Threads to fall. Saibra found flying in
snowfall to be the most challenging of her transitions to Dragonsfall.
It was sort of like flying Threadfall in rain in many ways, but much
harder to see. The white of the flakes and the silver of the Thread
blended together.
}:Word from Dolphin Cove. The humming has begun.:{ Chioneth reported,
spreading the word to the rest of the dragons at Dragonsfall. There
would be others besides the Weyrleaders that would choose to attend to
see loved ones, or friends try their hand at Impressing a dragon.
**Make sure Saidrene has a ride to Dolphin Cove.** Saibra reminded her
Queen before she turned and headed to her closet. Although she was
tired and felt half frozen from Threadfall, she looked forward to
seeing Panitath's clutch hatch.
}:Nirreth,:{ Chioneth bespoke her bronze mate, }:my rider will meet
yours in his weyr.:{
When Saibra emerged from her Weyr she wore a long black dress, with
black, lace straps that rounded over her shoulders. It was cut low in
a sweetheart neckline, and the high waist, beaded with sparkling onyx
stones, accentuated her trim figure. The dress was long, and flowed in
a shimmery curtain, but on the left side a thigh-high split gave her
the mobility she would need to get on and off a dragon, and show a
little leg too.
For the event she had unloosed her long, black hair and allowed it to
cascade down over her shoulders. Stepping into a pair of black shoes,
she gave herself a glance in her mirror, and then picked up the winter
cloak she had acquired for life at Dragonsfall. She had to admit that
she looked like a woman of Dragonsfall, and for the first time since
she had arrived...she was okay with that. She wanted to match her
Weyrleader after all.
Walking down the corridor to G'nir's quarters she knocked on his door.
"Enter, please," G'nir called, making finishing touches to his hair.
He was dressed in Dragonsfalls' colours. He inspected his reflection
on the mirror and nodded with satisfaction before turning to look who
came in. "Ah, Saibra, you look absolutely stunning."
A smile curved across her face as she raked her eyes over G'nir with
approval, "And you are looking sharp yourself, Weyrleader." Despite
the fact that they were still getting use to one another, Saibra had
to admit they made a handsome pair together.
"Thank you," G'nir replied with sweeping court bow. Whatever they
were, and he sure as snow didn't know what it was, at least they
formed a dazzling couple when they appeared in together. His blond
looks was perfect contrast to her dark beauty. "Are you ready to go?
Your first official appearance as the Weyrwoman of Dragonsfall Weyr."
"I am ready. Is it okay for me to ride with you and Nirreth?" Chioneth
was getting heavier with eggs and Saibra wanted her queen safe and
sound at Dragonsfall.
"Perfectly fine. I'll just put on straps to Nirreth and then we can
go," G'nir replied. He took the passanger-straps from the peg on the
wall.

As they arrived in the air above Dolphin Cove Saibra took a deep
inhale of the ocean air with a sigh. She definitely missed that smell.
And the warmth.
G'nir helped her down from Nirreth's back and looked around. "It's
always a pleasure to visit Dolphin Cove." He lifted his hand to a
greeting for a familiar face.
"Yes it is." She agreed whole-heartedly. Still, it was the first time
since she had left that she felt like an outsider. Tonight she was
Dragonsfall's Weyrwoman. Slipping her hand into the crook of G'nir's
elbow, Saibra nodded to some people she knew as they walked to the
Hatching Cavern and took their place in the special seating reserved
for other dignitaries. Across the Sands Saibra could see Cyradis's
very pregnant form and as she met eyes with her friend she smiled and
waved. Leaning forward and looking down the row she was pleased to
see that Saidrene had indeed been brought by one of the brownriders
from Dragonsfall. Kaibren would be back at Dragonsfall with his foster
mother.
"Is that Kapera?" G'nir asked curiously. He too was scanning the crowd.
"It is," Saibra confirmed, and she was happy to admit that her voice
didn't sound the least bit jealous over the goldrider who had filled
her old position. It was a step in the right direction for her. "She
arrived not long before I responded to your letter, or I wouldn't have
been able to go to Dragonsfall."
"What a stroke of luck for Dragonsfall and to me," G'nir replied.
