It felt good to be back in her wing meeting room again. It felt good
to be back in her gear. She still needed to lose some of the weight,
but it was allright. Nothing to worry about since she was working
again. Rhosyn watched as everyone came back inside.
"Hello, Rhosyn," Lenala's smile was wide. It was relief to her that
things were getting back to normal.
Ciara slid into her usual seat about halfway back in the room and
smiled a welcome to Rhosyn. "You're looking well recovered," she said.
"Thanks. Still some things to work on but I'm ready to get back into
things." Indeed, she was happy to see her feet again besides other things. "Lenala,
did you have that list of what I need to do first?"
"Here," Lenala slid the hides across the table. "I'm happy to hand over the
reins back to you."
"I think everyone here," Rhosyn stopped to smiled at her riders, "will
agree with me when I say that you and Tsaera have done a great job
managing things while I was unable. I'm very proud of you."
"Thanks," Lenala said with grateful nod of her head. "Do you realize I
was too busy to even flirt properly?" she added.
Ciara threw back her head and laughed. "Such a tragedy Lenala. I'm
sure there are many men who feel the loss keenly." The greenrider
truly enjoyed watching Lenala work a man, she was the most talented
women she'd ever seen. There wasn't a drip of sarcasm in her comment
only friendly banter.
"There's a new bronzerider in the Weyr, and I haven't even met him yet,"
Lenala said with tragic sigh.
"I don't know if you're missing much. I mean he's a good turn and everything
but..we'll see." Personally Rhosyn was less interested in that right now and more
interested in getting her feet under her. Of course after having babies things didn't
feel the same. "I'd take J'ren over him any day." She was very matter-of-fact about that,
not that everyone didn't know which bronzerider she really wanted.
"I prefer to find it out myself. But that's not why we're here," Lenala said.
As much as she liked to discuss the good and bad sides of Weyr's bronzeriders,
they did have business to deal with.
Rhosyn tried to hide her smile. Lenala had changed and that was proof
of it. "Very true. Allright then. We have Threadfall tomorrow over Sunstone.
I don't want to lead us into Fall just one day after coming back so I'm
going to let Lenala lead the Wing. Orlaith and I will take the next one in a
sevendays' time once we've had time to drill again with everyone."
She looked down at her list. "Any issues I need to be aware of?"
Cirara just remained silent in her seat expecting the goldriders to
work things out for themselves.
"I think just the matter of leadership," Tsaera said. Her time with
the Wing had been rather uneventful, over all.
"And I've been stuck to the Sands most of the time," Lenala sighed.
Ciara nodded at both comments. The wing had been uneventful while the
Weyrwoman and her 'second had been laid up.
"Very well. I think we all would like to thank Tsaera for the fine job
she did while we were indisposed. Now that both of us are ready to fly
again, she has decided to go back north." She let that sink in. "So
the wingthird position will be open again soon."
"She is?" Lenala was bit surprised.
Ciara was a bit sad about that actually, though of course the former
Senior Weyrwoman had told K'sedel already. Still she wasn't going to
steal her Wingleader's thunder by blabbing that she already knew.
Rhosyn nodded. They had done it before, just the two of them. It was one
less pair of hands, but at least they could do this and it was something she
knew-someone she knew. Besides that, Tsaera would always be someone she would
inherently distrust because of her position, her past, and her turns. "A
round of applause for our former Weyrwoman."
Tsaera bowed her head in thanks, but didn't say more than that. The Weyr
belonged to Rhosyn, and it was in good hands. And that was as it should be.
