See the Baby

After N'vanik had finished running around with the baby and Rhosyn had had a
chance to eat, she had gotten Nisheyl back. Now she was doing her own
hellos. Cyradis couldn't come, she knew. Seeing Saibra, she realized she had
sent her Second instead. The Weyrwoman waved to her with her free hand.

Saibra smiled as she caught sight of River Bluff's Weyrwoman and made her
way over, "Rhosyn, motherhood suits you, you look radiant."

She was also still sporting some extra weight, but she didn't point that
out. "Thank you very much. I hope Cyradis is doing well?" She did genuinely
like the Dolphin Cove Weyrwoman and planned to visit sometime soon now that
she didn't have pregnancy worries of her own to deal with.

R'enh, being the attentive escort had gone to get them some drinks
when he found Saibra again and handed her one. "Hello there," he
smiled at Rhosyn. Would you like this? I can get another," he added
offering her the other drink.

Saibra smiled her thanks to R'enh as she accepted the drink and then
answered Rhosyn's question, "Yes, she is trying to take it easy for
the baby, but other than that, she seems to be in good spirits."

"Oh no thanks." It was hard holding a drink with one hand and a baby with
the other. Rhosyn was glad to see R'enh though and knew he had yet to see
her daughter.

Knowing Nisheyl would probably be her only offspring, she was going to seize
the chance to show her off while she had her. "That's very good. It can be
hard sometimes. This is Nisheyl," she said to both of them, presenting
the newborn.

"She's beautiful Rhosyn," R'enh smiled and leaned in to give the
little girl a very good look. It was early yet but what he could tell
was that she looked like her mother.

Everyone knew that the Weyrwoman's child could either be a product of
K'sedel or N'vanik, which seemed to happen a lot in N'vanik's case,
Saibra had noticed, but the Weyrwoman's Second could detect neither
father in the child, who seemed to be all her mother, "I would say she
is taking after her mother." She smiled up at Rhosyn. It was easy to
remember when she had held Saidrene or Kaibren that way.... Sometimes
she still longed for another child, but she hadn't been able to even
really consider it after K'fel's death.

"Thanks. I haven't managed to mess her up yet thankfully. Course, that's
why she'll have her fosterparents." With a self deprecating laugh, she
adjusted the baby and then continued conversation. "I trust you've been finding
River Bluff's hospitality up to par?" Rhosyn didn't doubt Solieira so
the question was more formality than anything.

"Absolutely." Saibra had enjoyed herself very much at River Bluff so
far. Everything seemed to be running smoothly and there was no lack in
hospitality. She also thought it was easier to enjoy another Weyr's
Hatching because there was no need to feel so pressured to be a good
hostess yourself.

"Great as always Rhosyn," R'enh said planting a kiss on the Weyrwoman's
cheek.

"Glad to hear. I hope to get a dance later you know?" She grinned, thinking
she could probably give Nisheyl to U'das long enough. "Love Hatchings. They
always make everything feel better." **Well maybe not when you had a small clutch
but we've not had that problem thank Faranth**

"Of course," he nodded.

Saibra smiled, "I'll make sure not to wear him out on the dance floor
too much." Especially since she hoped to get a dance out of some of
the bronzeriders she had seen. "We had better go and speak with Lenala
now. I am sure she is so pleased to have had a good, healthy clutch."

"Oh we all are." Indeed, Rhosyn was very proud of her Second and would let
her know later on in the next few days when she could. Lenala had stepped up
to her duties and hadn't disappointed. "See you later." She pinched R'enh
playfully with her free hand while Nisheyl moved just a little bit in the other. The
baby was responding to all the noise.

"I'll see you in a bit," R'enh chuckled then put his arm around Saibra
and patted Rhosyn's bottom.
