R'enh

R'enh

}:Orlaith says you need to come visit hers:{

R'enh rolled onto his back from where he'd been curled around the nice
warm rump of a sweet greenrider. **Now?** He rubbed his eyes with the
heels of his hands. **Oh bother,** he didn't know what her problem was
but did she have to wake a man up on the other side of the sharding
continent?

**She's pregnant... I know.** He patted the leg of the greenrider.
"I've got to go but you can stay here and sleep if you want." All he
got was a sleepy mumble as he searched for his clothes.

Finally he got himself and Mnoranth together and they were floating down
from the heights toward Rhosyn's weyr.

She was inside, looking over Records. That was one duty she didn't have to go
far for since the Records Room was connected to her weyr. }:Mnoranth comes:{

Smiling, she was pleased at that announcement. Getting up and making sure
there was enough klah for R'enh since he'd want it, she prepared to
greet her guest.

"Hello gorgeous," R'enh grinned as he came through the door. "You called?"

"Yeah....it's been...too long." She walked up to him and just slipped
against him, standing there. It was hard what with the belly in the
way but she hadn't had many friends to talk to and she was glad to
have one she could crowd for the moment.

R'enh wrapped his arms around her. "You alright?"

"Define alright? I mean...it's hard being pregnant when you're on your
own. I mean there's Sol and Reeva but yeah." Especially since she
didn't particularly want to be pregnant. And she had never been
before. And she had a lot to do. "Plus I've been thinking."

"I only meant that you don't usually call me across the world in the
middle of the night when everything is fine."

"That goes back to the thinking part... Tell me-what has love ever got
me? Well besides Orlaith but that goes without saying." She was
serious and her hazel eyes were locked on him. There weren't many
people she could talk to like this and she needed to know.

"Oh Rhosyn," he smiled and sat down pulling her into his lap. "We all
want to fall in love. Because it makes us feel alive. Our everyday
reality is shattered and we are flying into the heavens without our
dragons. It may only last a moment, a candlemark or an afternoon, but
that doesn't make it any less wonderful. We treasure the memories for
the rest of our lives." He chuckled. "Sure, we may feel miserable and
alone after but while it lasts it's incredible and we wouldn't have it
any other way."

"I mean it. What has it ever got me? Mother sent me away. The Weyr...
loving Orlaith got me hell. And now...I will always be alone if I continue."
Her tone wasn't accusatory, it was just fact.

He looked at her for a long moment. **She didn't hear a word I said.**
"Have you ever been in love?"

Sighing, she thought about how to say it. Rhosyn wasn't really a
romantic- not like that. Sometimes it was something that happened but
for her most of the time it had never turned out exactly well. "I was
talking to Y'gel and he pointed out... N'vanik is never going to come
here. Even if he did lose he'd still have Talryne and she wouldn't want
to come here and I can never go there. He says maybe I deserve more.
Maybe I deserve someone who would just choose me, but I... I don't know
if I could ever want anything else."

"I know he cares about you Rhosyn," he said softly. How could he tell
her she was right without hurting her feelings even more? "He loves
Talryne you know. She's always there for him." Privately, he knew
N'vanik and he knew Rhosyn and they both had tempers that could make
things bad if they were closer.

"Trust me," he said after a moment. "You can."

She had a slightly confused look on her face. It was hard even to
contemplate it especially when here she was, pregnant and having a
baby for the first time. Still, she wondered if feeling so lonely
lately was why the thought was there. She had never felt so lonely
before the pregnancy. Taking a breath, she tried to think of what to
say and how to say it. "For me...it would have to be someone I
admired. Someone that wouldn't let me have my way. That I could
match." It went without saying that N'vanik had really been the only
one recently. R'enh had been her refuge once but it had been different
when she was younger. Now she had come into her own. "I don't see it
with the men here."

Aishara's face rose up in his minds eye and he half smiled at the
Weyrwoman. "You don't always get to choose you know. Love just
comes... if you're lucky, you realize it in time to keep it in your
life. Sometimes you don't get to make that happen." He took Rhosyn's
hand. "You never know," he said. "Love can surprise you."

**I'm a realist. You're the romantic** She didn't want to be the downer,
though. Obviously he was affectionate towards someone at the moment.
"Right but we all have things we're attracted to. And me...that's one of those
things." She led him back inside the weyr, sitting down in one of the larger
chairs to get off her swollen feet. "Too bad R'sedel is a greenrider,"
she harrumphed.

R'enh chuckled. Rhosyn in full pity party mode was something to
behold. He sat down next to her and put her feet on his lap. Then he
began to massage them and push the swelling down and away from her
feet. "There," he said. "How does that feel?"

"Very nice actually. So tell me who you're smitten over? Saibra or
someone else?" Her tone was conversational and it was clear she wasn't
prying, she was just curious. It was his choice to tell her.

"Saibra's fun," he said with a smile. "But no. A greenrider you've
probably never heard of. Her name's Aishara. She's sweet and
incredibly understanding actually." But he looked at Rhosyn as his
hands wandered further up her legs.

Hazel eyes closed as she just allowed herself to enjoy the attention.
Despite her rank and her status, Rhosyn never really allowed herself
to take advantage. The Weyrwoman didn't often receive attention and
pampering like other goldriders. Maybe it was due to all the turns she
had been denied and treated as less than she was. Either way, she was
always working. "No I haven't heard of her, but that's good that
you're meeting people at Dolphin Cove that you like. How is everything
else there?"

"It's fine," he said. "Well except for the headwoman leaving. I can't
get a straight story from anyone as to why." He stood and leaned over
her. "Tell you what," he kissed her cheek. "I think," he kissed her
other cheek. "You need some cherishing." He picked up her hands to
pull her to her feet. "Would you like that?"

"The headwoman leaving? Really? Did you ask N'vanik?" She was surprised
by that and it took her a moment to switch gears. It had been so long. It wasn't
as if N'vanik hadn't been with Talryne in that time while here she
was, pregnant for him.

And it was R'enh, after all. Rhosyn considered it for a moment and grunted
when she moved. **It'll take some creativity at this point.** He was trying
to make her feel better, though, in his way and she did appreciate that. It was
better than being alone and she had wanted his company. "You know my night
only started right?"

Hopefully he didn't have anywhere to be early in his morning.

"I do," he said softly. "I got a few hours sleep and I don't have to
be back until afternoon my time. I'm sure we'll be finished by then."
He smirked and pulled her toward the bed.
