K'sedel

K'lvin panted softly as he and Xmrenth reached the ground. He enjoyed the
workout that drills brought and he always felt relaxed after a hard days
work with the wing. Sliding from his lifemate's neckridge he gave the
bronze's neck an affectionate pat.

}: The Weyrleader.:{

K'lvin looked up to see K'sedel approaching.

"I hoped I'd see you here," K'sedel said as a conversation opening. Even
though he could have found the man using their dragons, there was something
about doing it the old fashioned way, using his own feet and eyes to find
someone that did appeal to him.

K'lvin gave the man a nod in greeting, "What can I do for you, sir?"
It wasn't every day that the Weyrleader came out to chat.

"It might be what you can do for the Weyr."

This made the bronzerider pause and raise an eyebrow, "Me?" He'd been
at River Bluff for a few sevendays, going on a month, but already he
liked the place more than he had Dragonsfall, "Of course, I'll do
whatever I can. What is it that you need?"

"Yes, you," K'sedel said, dropping the mystery act. "I need another
wingleader."

"I'm going to assume you are talking about Torrent Wing." It was the
Wing that K'lvin was currently flying in, they had been under the
leadership of their Wingsecond, J'ren. "And J'ren is okay with this?"
The last thing K'lvin would ever want would be a Wingsecond who was
resentful of being overlooked for a promotion.

"I wouldn't worry about that," K'sedel said. "I think the wing needs new
ideas as well as new blood, and he'll understand that." Truth be told,
K'sedel thought that the Wingsecond had found his niche, and had done a
great job, but needed some more mentoring before he was ready for a wing of
his own.

K'lvin looked away from the Weyrleader for a moment, looking over his
dragon first, and then looking over the Weyr. He had come to River
Bluff to have a new opportunity with his daughter, and he had enjoyed
having that time since he had been there. But did he want more?
Being a Wingleader meant more responsibilities, more worries and cares
to shoulder.

}:It is our duty.:{ Xmrenth broke into his rider's thoughts.

K'lvin had come to that conclusion as well, knowing that he could not
tell the Weyrleader 'no', not when he knew that he and Xmrenth could
offer valuable leadership to Torrent Wing, "I'll do it." He said,
looking back at K'sedel.

"Congratulations, Wingleader," K'sedel held out his hand to his fellow
bronzerider.

The new Wingleader smiled as he shook his Weyrleader's hand, "Thank you,
sir."
