It had taken quite a long while but she had finally recovered enough to be out and about and able to wear clothing again without it pulling all of her skin off with it. Rhosyn had begun to venture out of her weyr little by little. And it occurred to her to think N'vanik might be a little upset over what had happened. **Should I send a message to him? Or
should I wait until he's ready?**
Thinking a practice flight might do her a little good, she took her time getting Orlaith's straps on. The gold wasn?t gravid enough yet to be grounded. When the pair of them were ready, they left and appeared as a dot above Dolphin Cove at first before they came in closer. Hard to see as the sun shone on her pale hide, Orlaith alerted the watchdragon before coming in for a landing. Rhosyn didn't dismount just yet. He might be busy. And anyway, her riding leathers were rubbing against her just healed body and it was actually a bit painful so she didn't move but pressed herself against Orlaith's neck ridge instead until it subsided. **Maybe this was a bad idea**
Loseth watched the Queen arrive from the heights. }:Orlaith and hers are here.:{
N'vanik looked up from the hide he was working on and frowned. **Tell Rhosyn she can take her vanity and her secrets somewhere else.**
Loseth made the draconic equivalent of a sigh. }:Mine doesn't want to talk to yours.:{
}:Why not?:{ Orlaith asked of her own accord without sharing the message with Rhosyn. Her rider had overdone it and was now suffering enough. It wasn't going to go well if they had come for no reason.
}:He is angry about her keeping secrets,:{ the bronze said. }:He thinks about the other goldrider who got sick and left.:{
}:Mine, Loseth's is upset because you didn't talk to him before. Something about the other sick goldrider:{ Orlaith finally told Rhosyn, forgetting about the part where he didn't want to talk to her.
Her mind made the connection. **Traelyn...** She would have never drawn the parallels between herself and Traelyn because in her mind she would never be like the other woman. That N'vanik wouldn't know her well enough by now to know that was a great disappointment. Sighing, she knew she couldn't get down without help unless she fell down and that was not going to help anyone. So he would have to come to her or someone else would, anyway.
}:Mine says she will be glad to pass out on the way to his office but if she does, I won't be happy so if yours would like to change his mind and speak to her, he may come and get her. Otherwise, we'll go home:{ It wasn't as if Orlaith could just sit out there all day. It was sharding hot and Rhosyn's half healing skin was already cooking again where the helmet didn't shade.
Just in case she did try it, the bronze said, }:Mine is at the beach.:{ He paused as he relayed her message to his rider. }:He says go home.:{ Loseth was clearly unhappy at the response. He wanted to spend time with Orlaith.

After she got back and got Y'gel to help her down, she threw off her riding clothes and went straight to her bathing pool. Once she had time to be quiet and she wasn't hurting so bad, she went over his reaction in her mind. It was hard not to think that here he was sitting somewhere, judging her. He had written her off so easily as being like Traelyn despite everything. He hadn't trusted her to take care of herself and then come around.
In her mind, she heard the voice again-the voice of the woman who had always judged her-always thought her inferior.
'You'll never be a proper goldrider. You will only be respected because of your dragon. Without Orlaith, you would be
nothing.' She remembered the anger at being controlled, forced, pushed into a corner, and even threatened. That hadn't been a life. She'd left to get away from that. **I thought I could trust him, that he would be different.**
Her hands moved around in the water for just a moment. **He threw me away, just like she did, because I didn't do exactly as he wanted. If I don't do things his way...** Getting up and out of the water, she rubbed her face and then went to put some numbweed on her arms. **I don't need him. I'm the Weyrwoman of River Bluff Weyr, for Faranth's sake**
Deep down, though, she knew she was lying.
