"Lord Corwal," Cyradis reached out her hand to greet him. The
receiving line was only just beginning but she wanted to make him
aware of her concern and need to speak later. "If I could have a
moment of your time later?"
"Of course, Weyrwoman Cyradis. And congratulations, it was a wonderful
Hatching," Corowal replied with disarming smile.
So there was truth to the rumors that their dear Lord Corowal could
charm the blurwings from the trees if he set his mind to it. She returned
his smile with a warm one of her own. "Thank you very much," she said
and her eyes moved to the next person in line.

Later when the line had dwindled and she was able to excuse herself
she went looking for him again. She finally found him holding court on
one side of the room. They melted away when she arrived. "I imagine
they find you anywhere you go."
"That they do. Just you wait, now that you're the official Weyrwoman,
they'll find you too," Corowal replied, giving her a courteous
half-bow.
She smiled and bowed her head. "Yes," she agreed. "But there's
strength in two." She leaned closer and took his arm. "Notice how
they're hovering just out of range so they don't hear us?"
"Some of them are probably straining their ears in a hope to hear
something," Corowal replied, lowering his voice to conspirator y tone.
"Do you see how they kind of _lean_ closer as our voices go down?" She
made a little motion with her hand leaning. "But I suppose we have
some other things to talk about. Right?"
"Yes," Corowal agreed to both of the questions.
She smiled and watched as most of those around them got the hint and
backed off. She didn't think they were entirely discouraged but there
were far fewer than there had been moments ago. "Perhaps you can tell
me what you expect from us with regards to your son?"
"Expect? He's a bronzerider. I expect him to be trained accordingly.
There's a future Weyrleader for you," Corowal replied.
"Yes," she agreed with a smile. "He would receive that training even
if he weren't the son of a Lord Holder." She was more interested to
see if he would request any special treatment for the boy. She was
friends with another bronzerider who was the son of a Lord Holder.
He'd even won one of her flights in the past. Of course, G'nir had
been legitimate and his daughter had been sent back to the Hold to be
raised as blood. All of this was behind her gentle question. She was
certain that now the secret was out about L'cor's parentage there
would be plenty of young women setting their caps for him and there
would be children, it was inevitable.
"That boy has never had any special treatment in his life and I don't
expect him to have any now. He probably didn't have it easy, growing
up fatherless," Corowal said. It was only thing he was regretting in
whole affair, not being able to be father for his son. "If he has any
children, well, those would be members of Emerald Fall's Blood."
Cyradis could read people fairly well and thought she saw a tinge of
remorse in Corowal, She nodded and stood. "Very well, I'll be sure to
keep you informed of any... developments." It wasn't her job to judge
the Lord Holder for how he had or hadn't participated in his son's
raising. It _was_ part of her job as Weyrwoman to track the various
bloodlines if they could be identified. Her records keeping would just
need a little additional action with regards to a certain young
bronzerider.
She held out her hand, "Take me to the dance floor M'Lord," she smiled.
"With pleasure," Corowal replied and led her to the floor.
