Briata

Briata

Briata was agitated, though she couldn't fathom why.
She had been since dinner. She found herself pacing through the
hallways, unable to quench whatever it was that was driving her. Jewel
was agitated too, though why was as much a mystery to her as to why
_she_ felt that way.

The roaming around did little to settle her and finally Briata made
her way toward her quarters. She'd at least do something productive.
Maybe that would help settle her. She slipped into her quarters and
closed the door behind her. Her room wasn't dirty, but she needed to
do _some_thing. She set about sweeping, but that didn't take long.
So she set about rearranging her things.

He walked along on his way to her quarters to apologize. He hadn't
meant what he said to come out that way and hurt the very person he
was trying to hard to help. He felt awful about it and just wanted to
patch it up and hopefully get things back to the way they'd been
before.

He probably stood at her door a good five minutes before he stopped
leaning and knocked.

Briata's gaze snapped to the door. Irrational irritation made her
tense, but she put down the chair she'd been moving to go to the door
and open it. She froze when she saw who the visitor was.

"I'm sorry," he said "Briata, I wouldn't hurt you for the world, I..."
his mouth worked as he tried to find the right words but nothing came.
"I'm sorry."

Briata stared at him a moment longer, then lifted a hand to rub at her
eyes. Finally she stepped back and motioned for Y'gel to enter. As
irritated and antsy as she was, he had come to her to apologise. The
very least she should do is talk to him.

He could tell she was still upset and agitated about the whole thing.
He followed her into her room and closed the door softly. "I was only
trying to find a way to help you not be so very sad all the time."
Honestly he felt like a kid caught stealing a bubbly. "I really didn't
mean to upset you."

"I know." Briata's voice tightened and she reached up to rub at her
brow. Then she froze. Something wasn't right...something wasn't.
Her back was still to Y'gel so he didn't see the way her eyes widened.
Suddenly, she realised one of the reasons why she had been agitated -
and why her firelizard wasn't with her right that moment. **Oh Jewel,
why _now_?** But the gold was far too busy leading other firelizards
on a merry chase to even bother with any sort of response. It was
getting warm and Briata swallowed as the sensations began to make her
tingle.

"Briata?" He was puzzled and looked like she was about to fall over.
"Are you ok?" He stepped and reached out to turn her, puzzled as he
swept hair out of her eyes. His fingers grazed the side of her face
then he tried to tilt her chin to get a look at her eyes. He might be
mainly a dragonhealer but he knew something about people too.

"I'm..." Briata didn't finish. Her fingers danced over her brow,
then skipped over her cheek. She drew in a breath as the sensations
caused by her firelizard made the man's touch almost burn. That
breath danced out, then in again, faster than it should have. It
wasn't as intense as a dragonflight, but the sensations were there
none the less. When he gently tilted her chin up, her eyes lifted,
her hands drew up as well only to rest lightly on his arms. Her
jeweled gaze was lit with a strange light and she tried to push out
the thoughts of his touch out of his mind...of his hands roaming over
her skin, tugging at her tunic and skirt...

Her eyes were dilated and sparkled up at him. The sadness had been
swept away and she was the most luminously beautiful. "Briata?" She
was very close and her breath.... wait, he could swear she was... but
no.

She couldn't help it. He was so close. So reachable. The young
weaver stepped closer, drawing further into that embrace, her body
pressing against his. She trembled, part of her wanting to be closer,
to feel him against her, to draw her body along his - but another part
wanted to pull away, to tell him to leave. But she couldn't do that.
The sensations that she shared with Jewel were far too tempting.

He tilted his his head sideways "Briata, what do you want?" he was
puzzled by her approach but when his arms went around her he didn't
expect her to press so close and it caused an involuntary reaction.
"Uh, maybe I should go." he said rather gruffly.

"Maybe...maybe you should." Or shouldn't. Jewel was leading those
bronze and brown firelizards up and down, giving them little rest. It
was also playing havoc with her emotions, with the desire that coursed
through her. Her eyes widened, her full lips parted as she felt him
reacting to her and she automatically pressed harder into him. Her
breathing quickened and her fingers curled, grabbing onto his tunic.

He groaned as she made it worse and he couldn't deny the reaction that
mystified him. He wasn't one to lose control and had never been a
slave to his physical needs. He took his pleasures in the lower
caverns when the desire took him. That and the occasional flight were
usually sufficient. He mumbled an apology and plucked at her hands to
pull them away as she requested him to leave. She had to feel, she had
to know.

But she didn't let _him_ go. Her hands twisted out of his and slid
back along his arms. Another shiver danced along her spine as her
need increased. She should stop. She should let him go. Y'gel
was...was...so very handsome. So very warm. "Y'gel..." She
breathed, trying to calm her breathing by taking a deep breath,
which didn't help matters at all. Her face was aflame, but her eyes
were alight with her own desire. Stay, her hands and body told him as
she drew back into his embrace. Stay with me.

"Briata" he breathed. She was so very beautiful but a small part of
his mind rebelled. His body fought him as he tried to back away. Her
clutching and grinding against him was making it almost impossible to
remain sane. But in his effort to extract himself he backed right into
the small couch and lost his footing.

Briata fell with him, though she managed to catch herself on the
couch, arms on either side of Y'gel. Her face was a mere inch from
his, lips hovering just above his own. So tempting. So...she
struggled against the sensations. Here was a man she'd come to care
about, but she hadn't honestly looked at him in this manner before.
And now, with his closeness, with the temptation mounted by the
emotions from her firelizard she was dangling dangerously over a
precipice. Her bosom pressed against his chest, her breathing
remaining quick. Her eyes closed as she tried to gain control of
those emotions, but she could not pull away and the feel of his body
beneath her own was so very, very inviting.

"Honey, I want you more than anything right now," he ground out. "But
I don't want you to hate me after." He put his arms around her. "You
have to tell me."

"I don't hate you..." Briata's words were a whisper and her lips
moved lightly against his own as she spoke. She slowly let go of her
hold upon the couch, lowering her body fully onto him. A long, low
moan escaped, her firelizard still swinging through the air. She
turned her face and buried it in the crook of Y'gel's neck, quaking,
trembling with need, with desire. She couldn't quite think clearly,
too distracted by the activities her firelizard was engaging in.

He closed his eyes at her words. His arms tightened for a moment when
she lowered herself fully into his embrace. Then his hands began to
move over the warm weight of her communicating his own need and
desire. He clutched her to him for a few moments longer before he sat
up cradling her across his lap. Tenderly he swept strands of hair from
her eyes and kissed her.

Briata opened her mouth to him, accepting the kiss, reciprocating it,
deepening it. One hand reached up to rest against the side of his face
and her fingers gently stroked his cheek. Her mind was screaming two
things at once. Stop! It said. No! It thrust back. But her body
was far louder than her mind and she could not ignore it. So she fell
into its influence and accepted the kisses of the man who helped stoke
the fire.

Her response inflamed him even further. He stood and carried her to
the bed still devouring her mouth. In one smooth motion he knelt, laid
her on the beautiful coverlet then stretched next to her.

She allowed him to move her, accepted his embrace once again as he lay
beside her. It was a little crowded on the small bad, but that only
pressed her body against his even more. Her free hand reached up,
fingers gently stroking the side of his face, kisses, sweet, tender,
gentle, savouring the taste of him.

One arm cradled her and the other hand unlaced her bodice while he
drank in her sweet kisses. His hand gently smoothed the cloth away
until it cradled the softness of her skin beneath. He still watched
for any sign she didn't want him to go further. But he was fast
approaching the point of no return. His head dipped to taste the firm
peak.

There was a brief moment when Briata opened her mouth to speak, when
she might have asked to stop. To come to her senses which were a bit
addled, as if she had too much to drink. But then his hands were upon
her, bodice undone, tunic pushed upward and one hand of her own played
at his hair, pressing him firmly against her breast as a soft sigh
escaped. The thought of stopping passed and she fell completely into
the desire that took possession.

His hand left her breast and went to his waist to unfasten his belt
and trews. He worked off his boots never leaving her side. Y'gels lips
and teeth worked their magic slowly and gently while his hand went to
pull up her skirts caressing a silken thigh.

Briata began to wriggle and slipped out of her tunic and bodice only
to cast them upon the floor. Her hands planted against his chest then
slid up to his neck to cup the sides of his face, only to roam back
down over his chest and to his abdomen. She shifted, drawing her leg
up, gliding it alongside his own and pressing her body fervently
against the bronzerider's.

Her wordless urging was rewarded when he lifted his hips and moved
over her. Her skirts moved out of the way his gaze moved from the
sight back to her face with a curious half smile.

~~*~~

All clothing lay around them on the floor. Y'gel cradled Briata
against his chest tenderly stroking her back. He kissed her forehead.
He still had no clue how this could possibly have happened or what had
caused it.

Briata was still, very still. Her face was pressed into the crook of
his neck, her breath feathery against his skin. Her hands clutched
around his neck and her hold was as tight as it could be without
hurting him or shutting off his air. Her breathing had slowed, become
more normal, but the last remnants of desire still flittered within
her as Jewel enjoyed the vestiges of her mating flight. Now that her
own flesh had been satiated, it was easier to ignore, though she would
have been more than ready to go at it again if she let herself - and
if men could be ready to do so so quickly.

She almost didn't want to look at him. Shame filled her, shame for
falling in so easily. It wasn't nearly as powerful as a dragonflight,
and yet she had let it run her, let it motivate her into doing
something she wouldn't normally do. Why? She didn't know. She cared
about Y'gel, but until that moment when Jewel had started everything,
he had been nothing but a brotherly figure to her. Looking through
the eyes of her firelizard's desire had changed that.

And it had been pleasureable. Very much so. She swallowed and tried
not to let the guilt overwhelm her. It had only been seven months
since B'lamick's death. How could she have fallen into another man's
arms so easily?

B'lamick...she had almost whispered his name during the height of
passion. Her heart still ached for him, and yet her body had
responded to this man. Y'gel. A man she had come to care about as
well, though doing such a thing had never crossed her mind - not even
once. Until now.

The reason for everything happening popped from /between/ and landed
on the small armchair with a satisfied chirp. She curled up on the
back and almost purred, eyelids half closed as she set her eyes upon
the two people still tangled with the sheets upon the bed.

Y'gel was as puzzled as he had ever been. He'd been busily trying to
set her up which had caused the fight that brought him here. He'd
never turned his thoughts toward this before, not even in some crazy
dream yet here she was in his arms. The chirp got his attention and
then realization dawned on him.

"Briata," he pulled back his head and put a finger under her chin.
"Did Jewel just fly? Is that what this was?"

Briata stirred a little. It had just been so tempting and he had been
right there. He had been so close. "Yes." She whispered, breath
feathering against the side of his neck. "I...should have tried to
fight it more."

Suddenly he felt like a complete idiot. "I am so sorry, I never would
have..." He never would have taken advantage of her if he'd known she
was in that state. "No, how could you. I know how it can be." He
mentally kicked himself. "Are you ok? Should I go?"

Her hold tightened upon him instinctively. Go? She supposed he
should, but Briata found that she didn't want him to. "Could you
stay?" She asked, her voice a half whisper. "Just...just a little
while longer? Please?"

Her answer honestly surprised him. He gathered her to him and smoothed
her shining black hair. "I can stay as long as you want me here" he
said. He could reach the sheet where it tangled with their legs and
pulled it up to give them both a bit of cover. His hand went back to
playing with her beautiful hair. He knew beyond a doubt she was one
that deserved to be cherished if anyone did.
