Characters: N'vanik, Rhosyn
Description: Rhosyn comes to Dolphin Cove to see the Weyrleader after the hatching.
Location: Dolphin Cove Weyr, River Bluff Weyr
Date: month 2, day 21 of Turn 6
Notes: Mentioned: Janani, Talryne, Meledei
}:N'vanik wants to know if you and yours are still coming today,:{ Loseth said.
}:Mine is wondering if that is a good idea after what happened:{
Orlaith replied, sharing Rhosyn's concerns readily.
}:Mine says there are no stupid holders here now, so there will be no trouble.:{
}:Right but people have been talking-saying yours was going to leave Dolphin
Cove and come here. She's worried and doesn't want to upset things:{ It was
important to Rhosyn that N'vanik's leadership not be undermined by her.
}:He says he didn't know yours was afraid of gossip.:{ Loseth felt his rider
getting annoyed.
}:She is not afraid for her own self, but she would not have you and yours
harmed because of her own actions.:{ Orlaith did not like that tone at all
especially when her rider was trying to do the right thing.
}:Who would dare hurt mine?:{
}:There may be many that wish to see him fail as there were many who wished
that for her:{ And perhaps that revealed so much more than Orlaith realized.
}:She does not wish that for him:{
}:Mine says he's not afraid.:{ Loseth rumbled and shifted on the heights.
}:He does not understand:{ Orlaith told her rider who was listening. Rhosyn
sighed, nodding. She didn't want him to think he was being punished. Still, it
might not be the best decision. Frowning, she decided his feelings meant
more than all the rest of them. If they wanted to try and bring him down, then
she would tear them to pieces.
And so she pulled on her flight gear and headed out to where her queen
rested on the ledge. It took her some time to get the harness on the
huge gold, but
she finally did. Stepping back, she admired her handiwork. **Tell him
he better make
this worth my time**
}:She says we are coming and your asses better be ready:{ The big
queen waited for her
rider to climb up and get secured before Orlaith went to the edge of
her ledge and pushed
her big body up into the sky. She worked to gain the altitude she
needed before going
/between/. Moments later they came out of the black above Dolphin Cove
Weyr in pitch
dark. Orlaith hovered for a moment to get her bearings. The moonlight
shone on her pale
hide as she glided down alerting the watchdragon quietly. }:Loseth I
have never been to
your weyr. Where am I going?:{ Her mindvoice was slightly annoyed,
with Rhosyn's nervousness
bleeding over.
}:Here.:{ Loseth sent her an image and shifted over to give the Queen room.
It took some time, but she finally maneuvered herself to where she could land.
Then Rhosyn climbed down carefully and stepped back as Orlaith glanced around
the place. She had been to Dolphin Cove when they were learning between points
but that was it.
N'vanik came out to the ledge. "Come on in. I promise my ass is
ready." He smiled.
}:Angdelouth can have this place:{ Orlaith proclaimed as she furled her
wings and tried to get comfortable. }:Loseth, my couch is better than yours:{
"Well since this is the first time I've been here, I want the grand tour," she
proclaimed as she hurried to get out of her flight gear, almost
throwing it at him.
}:Your couch is bigger, but I like mine better because it's mine,:{ Loseth said.
She didn't seem happy to be here, but he chose to ignore it. N'vanik
made a wide gesture. "This is Loseth's space, and through here is the
main room." He nodded toward the seating area. "Tal cleaned up, but
usually she's got her projects scattered around, and I have some of my
hidework on the table."
Once she was out of the hot leather garb, she was a lot more comfortable.
Rhosyn wore a white tunic that was long enough to cover her thighs. Walking
through the weyr, she looked at everything. "Where is she?"
"At her weyr."
"She has her own quarters? I'm confused. I thought she lived here." Bending
over to look at some of the furniture, she brought herself up.
"Not technically, although she's here often enough." A lot of people
assumed they were weyrmates, and he didn't always correct them.
"I need someone to look after me I think. I've been looking for a young girl
that hasn't apprenticed, but so far no luck." She frowned as she walked further
into the weyr, inspecting it for the first time. **So this is where he lives**
"If that's a hint, you're looking in the wrong place."
"Talryne has already apprenticed, I know that. So has my hears-all and Gelira.
That leaves me with nothing." Finished with her appraisal, she stopped and just
stood there. "So here I am. How have things been since the party?"
He shrugged. "Normal. The gossips are having a great time, but I don't
much care what they say." He led the way to the bathing room.
She followed, remembering something. "I met Meledei. She was hurt?"
"Yeah. She was Scored, but the healers say she'll be back flying
before too long." He stepped into the bathing room and gestured with
his arm. "Extra large bathing room."
"I know you all have weakened wings but...is that common, for golds to be
scored?" She tried to keep the serious concern out of her voice, but it was easy
to see that it didn't sit well. Her eyes followed around the bathing chamber,
though it was similar enough to her own.
"No," he said with a hint of anger. It shouldn't have happened.
N'vanik moved on to the sleeping room, thinking about poor Meledei.
She dropped the subject, intensely interested in his sleeping chambers.
"Do your weyrs adjoin here? I know in some of them the Weyrwoman
and Weyrleader weyrs do."
"No, we don't even share a wall. We've got a council room between us."
Which was for the best, since sharing a sleeping room wall could get
awkward.
"Oh....interesting." River Bluff didn't have a Conclave chamber, like Fort
did in the North. Rhosyn did have her sitting room, but that was the closest
thing they had. Sitting on his bed to see how comfortable it was, she looked
up at the ceiling.
N'vanik sat down next to her. "I've been waiting a while to get you in
my bed," he said close to her ear.
"Is that all?" she looked over at him, putting a hand on his leg. "Are
you really okay?"
He arched an eyebrow. "Should I not be?"
"I don't know. It just seems like I always make a mess. And after the whole
thing at the hatching, I hope it didn't cause you any problems." It had also
been his first hatching without Traelyn and she remembered that.
"That wasn't your fault, it was the holder's." N'vanik shifted. "I'm
sorry it happened, ruining your dress and all, but you have no idea
how sharding good it felt to hit him."
"Well, I was going to do it myself I fear if you didn't." She smiled, thinking
of the desire that had cropped up. "Maybe I'll have new babies again before
too long."
"Another Hatching. I'd like to dance with you again." He brushed her
hair aside and kissed her neck.
"I'd like to see you all dressed up again." She grinned. "All the other women
were undressing you with their eyes."
"And you get to undress me for real."
"Indeed. I was secretly sticking my tongue out at them and saying nah nah nah
nah in my head. That wasn't very mature of me was it?" She leaned into him,
relishing the attention in his lair. It was a good feeling, to put her stamp on
the place, however small, by her presence alone. Still, she couldn't help but
wonder how many times Janani had been in here.
"I'm not judging." He kissed her neck again.
"Well, you've got to get some sleep at some point or you won't be any
good tomorrow. So, let me just hurry this along..." Rhosyn moved to crawl
into his lap, beginning a series of kisses and rubbing that was very enjoyable.
"Mmm ... don't hurry it _too_ much." N'vanik wanted to enjoy having
Rhosyn in his bed.
