Description: Uetia reports in sick.
Location: River Bluff Weyr
Date: month 8, day 9 of Turn 5
Uetia knocked the 'Second's door. Her nose was running, eyes looked
red-brimmed and she could talk only with a whisper.
"Come!" called out K'reyel.
"Sir," she said and sneezed.
"I see," K'reyel said as he took one look at the clearly ailing
greenrider.
River Bluff might stay warm all the turn round, but Dream's End didn't and
he'd seen the signs of a bad cold developing before now.
"I've managed to catch a cold and the healer's ordered me to sick leave for
three days," Uetia said and handed him the note from healers.
Since that was going to be the next thing he was planning to do, ask her to
go and get checked out it made him pause for a moment as he took the note.
"Might I ask how you caught this illness?"
"I'm not sure, but I took a friend to see snow and this came after it,"
Uetia replied.
"I see," K'reyel pulled out the duty roster and began to scrath her name
out. "I take it you've been told to report back for another check up then
after the three days?"
"Of course," Uetia said with her hoarse voice. "I also got instructions to
stay in bed and drink hot drinks."
"Don't talk any more," K'reyel told her. "I want you to follow the
instructions the healers have given you, if you need anything, have your
green speak to Erdenth and I'll have it organised for you."
"I'm terribly sorry of the inconvinience. I'm _never_ sick!", she blurted
out. She was very frustrated with her condition.
"Everyone gets sick at some point, just go and follow the healer's advice
and try to relax."
"Not me," the young greenrider murmured. "I can't remember last time I was
sick."
"Well if you take the advice of the healers, then maybe you'll recover
quickly and this will soon be a fading memory."
"I hope so," she was feeling really miserable.
"Then get yourself off to bed, and try and sleep if you can."
"Yes, sir," Uetia said and tried not to sneeze on his desk. She had to pinch
her nose to keep it getting out.
"I'll see you back here once the healers have cleared you for duty," K'reyel
told her.
Uetia just nodded, not trusting her voice to last.
